Are these styles too different?

Thoughts on Delaney Antoinette - are they too different to work together? We were strongly considering Delaney Leighann (middle name is after family names - Leigh & Ann), but just thought of this combo using Antoinette which is also a family name.
Would love to hear feedback on these top name options of ours, and do you prefer Delaney Leighann or Delaney Antoinette?

Edited to add: I just now realized initials would be DAM. Would that be a deal breaker? I’m not loving that at all, but my hubby doesn’t think it’s an issue. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I think it works well! They aren’t exactly the same style but they aren’t so different it’s weird, and I actually think a lot of times having different styles for first and middle name is cool and gives a name some balance. I prefer [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] over Leighann by a lot!

I think [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] Leighann sounds better than [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f], but I’m not fond of how Leighann looks…
Would you consider [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Annaleigh[/name_f]? I REALLY like that.

I understand your concerns, but I have to say, at 60, that the number of people I know who know my middle name is negligible. Very close relatives and friends, but not all of those. No one is figuring out what my initials spell either. I’ve never even thought about that myself. I would avoid PUS or ASS, but dam is just something that controls water, not a big deal.

I much prefer [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f]! I do not like names like Leighann.

Delaney Antoinette is actually a pretty cool combo! Very different styles but I think Antoinette sort of levels out Delaney which sounds quite modern.

As for the initials I don’t think it’s a huge deal. I rarely have to use my middle initials, it’s usually just first and last

I love [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] Antoinette!! Such a mixture of fun, classy, but modern. I don’t think the initials are a big deal, especially if she just uses DM or even an anagram form.

[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] has a better sound variation than Leighann with [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. It’s less predictable too.
Two lovely names!

The initials don’t bother me at all, but I’m in [name_u]South[/name_u] US where a monogram would be DMA anyway.
I don’t think of people realizing your full initials very often.

[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] is beautiful!! I think they compliment each other.

That said, while I think the initials are fine, if you’re not comfortable with it and you have an alternative, I’d go with that

I think it’s a lovely pairing!

I think the degree of difference is grating to be honest. I think names can stand to have a slight difference of style or feel but not more than a little or the name becomes heavy, in some cases tongue twistery, or it will just feel wrong to look at/read/say. Unfortunately (at least per me) [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] is one of these that just feels wrong. They seem to belong to different times and not in a way that compliments.

I prefer [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] Leighann, as the full name has such a sweet sound. I honestly do think [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] and [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] are very different and don’t quite sound right together for me, and the DAM initials make it even less appealing. [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] is a beautiful name, I just don’t like it with [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] personally. But with that said, it’s completely up to how you feel about the name, and whether you like it!

I much prefer [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] to Leighann, but I find the combo [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] jarring, and the initials would be a dealbreaker for me.
