Our first son is [name_m]Emile[/name_m]. We wanted a name that was pronounced the same in the US/[name_f]Argentina[/name_f] where we’re from. I love it, however, it’s not uncommon for people to call him “[name_f]Emily[/name_f]” and call him a “her.”
We’re trying to find another boys name that is pronounced the same in English/Spanish. We’re looking for family names or names or favorite musicians.
We like Astor , [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] , [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] , [name_m]Isidro[/name_m] …
Are we just asking for the names to be butchered? I love [name_m]Valentin[/name_m]…but it may be too exotic for the US. Thoughts??
I would say [name_m]Valentino[/name_m]! When you said [name_m]Emile[/name_m], I immediately thought about [name_m]Emilio[/name_m]. [name_m]Valentino[/name_m] is the masculine version of [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], just as [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] is the masculine version of [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. [name_m]Valentino[/name_m] has a beautiful meaning and it’s not hard to understand/weird at all in the US. Actually, [name_u]Ricky[/name_u] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] named one of his twins [name_m]Valentino[/name_m] (the other one is [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], that is also fairly a good ground between spanish and english)
We like Astor , [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] , [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] , [name_m]Isidro[/name_m] …
I don’t think [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] is unwearable at all, its my favourite from your list for sure. [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] is obviously the safest bet, and Astor also wouldn’t cause too much trouble, I just personally don’t care for Astor.
