[name]Aria[/name]`s popularity could be rising because of the character on Pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars! And [name]Aria[/name]!
I much much prefer [name]Amelie[/name].
[name]Aria[/name] is also getting exposure from the character [name]Arya[/name] Stark from [name]George[/name] R.R. [name]Martin[/name]'s A Song of Ice and [name]Fire[/name] series! I voted for [name]Amelie[/name]. :]
But in defense of Aria, although Amelie is less popular(#695),it’s still somewhat similar to the very popular Emma (#3), Emily(#6), and Amelia(#30), so Amelie could definitely get mixed up among all of the similar names. Then there’s also the potential pronunciation issues.
Aria is more popular at #157, but there are less Ari names floating around (Ariana is #84,and Arianne isn’t even in the top 1000) so I feel in that way Aria is actually less popular. Does this make any sense? That’s my logic,haha.
As far as popularity goes, it ultimately just depends on your area, really.

I like both, but prefer [name]Aria[/name]. I actually know two little girls named [name]Amelie[/name], but no [name]Aria[/name]'s so popularity depends on where you live.
I love [name]Aria[/name]. So I have to go with that one.

I voted [name]Amelie[/name] but only because [name]Aria[/name]'s rising in popularity. That’s kind of a turn-off for me. They’re both really beautiful though!
