Thanks, all! Really helpful to hear that most everyone agrees that [name_f]Ariyah[/name_f] is most likely invented.

All of the positive comments about [name_u]Aria[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is most likely helping me seal the deal! And, husband will be relieved. :sweat_smile:

RAY-a definitely seems like a more intuitive pronunciation for me than Rye-a! I think most people pronounced the movie [name_f]Raya[/name_f] and the Lost Dragon as RAY-a until they say the movie haha!

Have you also considered the spelling [name_u]Arya[/name_u] (or is it too Game of Thrones)? Looks pretty both ways! :slight_smile:

Idk where you live, this is for the USA: [name_u]Aria[/name_u] will always be pronounced with the “ee” sound in the middle; I could see [name_f]Ariyah[/name_f] going either way.

I would say both like your husband prefers. I really like [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] and [name_u]Aria[/name_u] together!

I love the name [name_u]Aria[/name_u]! Because it’s so common/familiar I would pronounce [name_f]Ariyah[/name_f] the same way if I encountered it
[name_u]Aria[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is so beautiful! I also love [name_f]Reina[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]!

I know an [name_f]Aryah[/name_f] (a-RYE-uh), and I think that’s a fun sound! Seems legitimate to me, though I can’t speak to its Hebrew origin.

I would think that [name_f]Ariyah[/name_f] was an alternate spelling of [name_u]Aria[/name_u]. I think it could work but there’d definitely be pronunciation issues. [name_u]Aria[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely :heart_eyes:

Another idea is [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] (which I’ve seen spelled Sariyah). It has the “rye” sound that you like & is an established name.

[name_u]True[/name_u]! Very helpful. I’ve actually moved [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] on and off of our list! I don’t think I’ve mentioned it to hubby yet. We also think the nickname “Ari” is very cute.
