Ariana vs. Arianna?

Hello,

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a quick question: Which do you prefer, [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] or [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]?

I just can’t decide between those two :.…

And the pronunciation: Would you pronounce it Ahree-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nahh or Airee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na? Any other pronunciations?

I don’t think it’s a horrible name, is it?

Thanks in advance.

Ariana for me! I love how much more flowy it feels than Arianna, which seems heavier and blockier for some reason. (Regardless, my favorite part is the Ari nn, so that could come from either, but I prefer Ariana!)

And yes. I think it’s a good name, anyway. I personally prefer Arianne over both, but I do love Ariana a lot, too. I would probably rank them as follows:

Arianne
Ariana
Arianna
Ariane

Good luck!

ETA: Oh, and I say air-ee-AH-nah. Probably because I first heard Arianne as air-ee-anne, and I’ve heard ahr- and air- for Ariana, so I just seem to side with air- now. I like Ari said more like airy than ahrie, so there’s that, too. And wow I’m rambling. lol.

I pronounce the two differently - [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] as Ar-ee-ah-na and [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] as Ar-ee-anna. I prefer [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] myself, and it’s actually on my own list! I think it’s a lovely name regardless.

I pronounce [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] as airy-anna and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] as airy-on-uh. I’ve also heard the [name_u]Ari[/name_u] part pronounced as ar-ee.

I prefer [name_f]Ariana[/name_f], though I say them both the same way: ahree-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na.

I love [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]! Mostly because I pronounce the two variations differently. [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] is Ahr-ee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na, while [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] is [name_f]Aer[/name_f]-ee-AN-na.

I would pronounce [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] ahree-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] airee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na, so I prefer [name_f]Arianna[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] best with the ahree-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na pronunciation.

I like [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]. I think it’s more flowy and pretty.

I’ve heard it pronounced both ways, so it’s really whatever your personal preference is.

I prefer [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]. From what I understand it is the more traditional spelling. I first encountered the name through the classical singer [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] Savall. I think it’s a lovely name, whatever the spelling.

As for the pronunciation I’ve found that British people pronounce vowels differently from Americans (for example) so I won’t comment to avoid confusion.

I prefer the [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] spelling. I say air-ee-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]-a but I’ve noticed Americans tend to use the “ON” sound where I use the “[name_f]ANN[/name_f]” sound (eg. saying [name_f]TONYA[/name_f] instead of [name_f]TANYA[/name_f])

The longer the better, for me! I prefer [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] (but it’s such a pretty name that it looks cute spelled both ways). I pronounce it R-e-ah-na.

[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]=arr-ee-ah-na
[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]= arr-ee-an-a

I prefer [name_f]Ariana[/name_f]. The extra ‘n’ seems to me to be unnecessary. I say a-ree-AR-nah.

I personally prefer [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] just because it looks better to me. I pronounce it the first way you spelt it. Such a cute name!

[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]! Such a beautiful name  [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] looks a bit funny in my opinion - the one N is simply perfect. Pronounced as Ahree-arn-ah (like in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]) xx
