[name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] is lovely! I agree with the idea of switching [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Stacie[/name_f]. AJ would still work as a nickname. It is quite close to [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], you could consider [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] as a middle? You’re doing the naming though, so whatever feels right!
I think you should go with something else but the world won’t end if you don’t!
These are my thoughts exactly - I think it fits in with names like Harlow and Marlow very naturally and doesn’t standout as weird or outlandish! I would not be surprised or confused to meet a girl named Arlowe.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to clarify [name_f]Stacie[/name_f] is my MIL’s exact name, I’m not trying to change the spelling for it. So even if I dropped the “we” from [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f], or flipped the names to be “Arlo [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Stacie” or “Arlo [name_f]Stacie[/name_f] Jane” I just don’t think it visually flows as well. IDK
Plus [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] & [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] looks better than [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] & [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] to me, I guess I feel that if we’re going to end up all matchy the even lengths looks better. I’m big on nicknames and Arthur’s already called [name_m]Arty[/name_m] 99% of the time so I suspect [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] will be called AJ or Loey 99% of the time.
We’re a nickname family too! [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to suggest [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] would be adorable!
Oh I love that! Never considered [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] but it works great
[name_f]My[/name_f] son has a buddy (a little girl) named [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] at his outdoor school and I think it’s super cute!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to update this thread that after watching the movie [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] with [name_u]Liam[/name_u] [name_m]Neeson[/name_m], my partner and I started preferring [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Stacie[/name_f]. One because being associated with classic fictional detective is cool but also all the nicknames: [name_u]Mar[/name_u], [name_u]Mars[/name_u], Loey, MJ, [name_u]Marley[/name_u], [name_u]Marley[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], etc.
[name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] on a girl doesn’t bother me, however, [name_f]Arlowe[/name_f] with big brother [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] does. I have a daughter named [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and have crossed off most names with a strong AR sound because they’re just too similar for me. She and her sister [name_u]Raven[/name_u] already get their names mixed up enough as it is.
