So I think I really like the name [name]Armand[/name]. I used to know an [name]Armand[/name] in elementary school and I remember having no trouble saying his name back then but now I’m having a bit of trouble. Is it like almond with an “r” or is is like Arm-in? Arm-on? or some other way? Also what do you think of the name [name]Armand[/name]? What kind of person does the name bring to mind? Does it work with a surname similar to Norseton? What would be good middle names for [name]Armand[/name] ---- Norseton?
I went to school with an [name]Armand[/name]. [name]Said[/name] like Arm-ohnd. Some people said [name]Ara[/name]-mond. He was really a kind person and actually quite sexy. Tall, slim but naturally muscular & dark complected.
Yeah, that’s the original way or more European way to pronounce it, I think. I consulted my brother, who was friends with the [name]Armand[/name] I knew, and he was certain that our [name]Armand[/name] pronounced it like Are + mund (like in [name]Edmund[/name] or [name]Raymond[/name]). I think I have heard of other people saying it my way. I was just confused because BtN says ar-MAWN is the only correct pronounciation (French) , and that is definitely not how I’ve heard it. Has anyone else heard ar-mund? Is it usable pronounced that way? Oh and does Ari work as a nickname for Armand? That idea just made me like it even more.
I think [name]Armand[/name] is a very handsome name! Sure, [name]Ari[/name] would be a fine nickname.
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Julius[/name] Norseton
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] Norseton
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name] Norseton
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Bennett[/name] Norston
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Zachary[/name] Norseton
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Ezekiel[/name] Norseton
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Everett[/name] Norseton
[name]Armand[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] Norseton
If you want to say it in English it is fairly simple and can be said either ARM-on or arm-OND. If you want to say in proper french it is a little trickier. Behind the Names has it listed as ar-MAW (the R is rolled and the end sounds nasal).
I like [name]Armand[/name] and [name]Armande[/name] (the female version). They aren’t that uncommon where I live, although not overly popular either. I have a hard time picturing it on a small child or a baby, but would love to meet one.
I don’t actually know if this is ‘correct’ or not, but I’ve known two people named [name]Armand[/name], and they pronounced it similar to ar-MAWND (similar to arm-OHND). I think it’s a very excellent name (in fact I just threw it on to my own re-reflect on list, just to be sure it shouldn’t make it’s way into our top 5). [name]Ari[/name] would make a great nickname. Or Awndy/Ondy.
I’ve only known one [name]Armand[/name], and he was arm-OHND
I like it, but its a little too unusual for me.
