Arrow

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to get some thoughts on [name_m]Arrow[/name_m]. A few of my friends were talking names at breakfast and [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] came up and everyone really liked it. It made me think that it could work as a name perhaps? I really like A names like [name_m]Ace[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] & [name_u]August[/name_u] so [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] fits.

Does the name sound a little harsh for a boy? I’m not a fan of [name_m]Gunner[/name_m] but I do like [name_m]Archer[/name_m].

All opinions welcome!

I really like [name_m]Arrow[/name_m]. I don’t think I would be “brave” enough to use it, so it is staying in my guilty pleasure list, but I think its a very nice name for a boy, not harsh sounding at all. Quite the opposite, in my opinion. I do think it’s a little hipster/theatrical sounding, but I think a kid named [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] would fit right in with all the other creative names these days.

Meh. I dislike it but think it works better as a middle name.

I love it and would definitely use it. [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] is my current combo. I think it sounds soft and lovely.

I’ve always liked [name_m]Eero[/name_m]. Obviously the [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] spelling is more straightforward in the U.S., but it’s also a little literal for me. It makes me think of all the hipster kid clothing printed with arrows these days. It’s a much bolder choice than [name_m]Archer[/name_m], even though they’re similar, but it also has a nicer sound.

In [name_m]Khalil[/name_m] Gibran’s “The Prophet,” the part about children refers to them as arrows, which is a lovely thing. There’s also a similar Bible verse. http://www.katsandogz.com/onchildren.html

Wow those words about children as arrows are beautiful.

I love [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] alot. I have it on my list of potential middle names. I don’t think I personally would use it as a first, but I do think it is usable. It has a lovely sound and meaning.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of [name_m]Arrow[/name_m], not sure I’d use if for first but maybe…? I’m knee deep in trying to name our almost 6 mo old (yes that’s right not good I know). [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] has crossed my mind for a middle possibly, my husband suggested [name_m]Errol[/name_m] but worried it would sound like [name_m]Earl[/name_m]… anyhow would love to know what you decide… I was leaning towards [name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] but doesn’t [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] sound cool!? good luck!

Would totally use it first or middle it’s a top contender for my middle right now
