I like [name_f]Angelou[/name_f] and [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]! I’ve also always thought [name_u]Alcott[/name_u] would be a nice name, and [name_m]Morrison[/name_m].

[name_f]Angelou[/name_f] and [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] both sound jaunty to me.

I like [name_u]Alcott[/name_u] and [name_m]Morrison[/name_m], but for males.

Though I like [name_u]Titian[/name_u], [name_f]Magritte[/name_f], and [name_u]Matisse[/name_u] for girls, so go figure.

I like [name_u]Morisot[/name_u], but more as a middle name than as a first. The French pronunciation is very appealing.

[name_f]Berthe[/name_f] reminds me too much of the maligned [name_f]Bertha[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Bertille[/name_f] though, but only when pronounced with a [name_u]French[/name_u] accent.

I’m not familiar with [name_f]Millay[/name_f], and I wouldn’t be sure how to pronounce it (is it just Mil-ay? When I see a double L, I wonder if it’s meant to be pronounced like French or Spanish). I think it’s interesting but could be confused with [name_f]Milly[/name_f].

[name_f]Angelou[/name_f] is lovely, though I believe [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Angelou[/name_f] pronounced her name the same as [name_m]Angelo[/name_m], which could make it confusing.

I really like [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], and [name_f]Villette[/name_f] is nice too. [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] seems less name-like to me, though it could work as a middle name.

I am too Irish for [name_u]Flannery[/name_u]. It just seems odd as a first name to me (Irish surnames aren’t really used as first names in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f]).

I just don’t like the sounds of [name_f]Eudora[/name_f] or [name_f]Cather[/name_f].

I’ve always liked [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_u]Flannery[/name_u], and [name_f]Eudora[/name_f]! [name_f]Angelou[/name_f] would make a good middle name. I also like [name_f]Monet[/name_f] as a girl’s middle.

I quite like [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_u]Flannery[/name_u], and [name_f]Millay[/name_f]! [name_u]Flannery[/name_u] was a top name of mine years ago and it’s starting to grow on me again. Plus, I actually knew a [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] years ago, I think it was actually her middle name but she used it as a first.

I want to love [name_f]Cather[/name_f] but it strongly reminds me of catheter unfortunately.

Seconding the love for [name_f]Monet[/name_f], I’ve seen it used as a middle IRL. Other artist/writer names I enjoy:

Frida ([name_u]Kahlo[/name_u])
Dali ([name_m]Salvador[/name_m], or for [name_m]Roald[/name_m] Dahl)
Seurat ([name_m]Georges[/name_m])
[name_f]Aphra[/name_f] (Behn)
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] ([name_m]Christopher[/name_m])
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] ([name_m]Woolf[/name_m])
[name_u]Christie[/name_u] ([name_f]Agatha[/name_f])
[name_m]Cabot[/name_m] ([name_f]Meg[/name_f])
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] ([name_m]Hodgson[/name_m] [name_m]Burnett[/name_m])
Mandel ([name_f]Emily[/name_f] St. [name_m]John[/name_m])

I love [name_f]Eudora[/name_f]! [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is cool too.

[name_u]Austen[/name_u] is common but cool. [name_u]Alcott[/name_u] would be totally awesome for a boy or a girl, but better on a boy I think. [name_f]Cather[/name_f] is really interesting! I’ve never liked [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] though. It’s a bit to harsh for my taste.

I forgot [name_f]Ngaio[/name_f] ([name_u]Marsh[/name_u]) and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] ([name_f]Cather[/name_f]) and [name_f]Colette[/name_f].

I know what you mean about [name_f]Cather[/name_f], but I love her books. I would nn her [name_f]Cathy[/name_f], a name no one seems to like, but I love.

Well, I love [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] ([name_f]Bronte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is on my list but it might be a bit too Wuthering Heights )!

Eyre, [name_f]Villette[/name_f], [name_u]Flannery[/name_u] and [name_f]Cather[/name_f] are awesome too

I like [name_f]Angelou[/name_f], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] and [name_f]Eyre[/name_f]. I know a few Brontes actually.

I know at least 2 Brontës and [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] is a special fave of mine. Obsessed with [name_f]Frida[/name_f] and may use it for a future child.
Many [name_u]French[/name_u] painters’ names are pretty usable eg

Matisse
[name_u]Cezanne[/name_u]
[name_f]Manet[/name_f]
[name_f]Monet[/name_f]
[name_u]Van[/name_u] (not the gogh bit)

Also [name_u]Zola[/name_u] for [name_u]French[/name_u] author Émile [name_u]Zola[/name_u]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] this one and also [name_u]Zola[/name_u] (and [name_f]Zora[/name_f] for [name_f]Zora[/name_f] [name_u]Neale[/name_u] Hurston!)

Cezanne as a name is growing on me fast. Not that different than [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]. I like the name better than his art.

Millay and [name_f]Angelou[/name_f] are great! If I was more into the authors I’d use them for sure. I feel weird about using a literary name that I’m not in love with the association specifically? Like I LOVE [name_f]Viola[/name_f] from Twelfth [name_u]Night[/name_u] but don’t love the name [name_f]Viola[/name_f], but alternately I really like the name [name_u]Oberon[/name_u]/Auberon but really am not fond of A Midsummer [name_u]Night[/name_u]’s [name_u]Dream[/name_u], so I always feel hesitant about considering [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] for that reason?

I LOVE [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] though and love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eyre[/name_f]… would totally consider using her. I’ve considered [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] and know there was a berry years ago who would’ve used [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] as a middle if she’d had a girl. LOVE [name_u]Flannery[/name_u] too, and would consider it with the right combo. It doesn’t really seem like a “me” name but I like it anyway…

I love [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]. For awhile I had the combos [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] on my list.
