So typically I just search the forums for other people who have posted about a name, just to see responses and get a feel for how people like it, but I have not been able to find any about [name_u]Asa[/name_u] outside of baby name games! [name_f]Do[/name_f] name nerds hate it or something? Haha.
It is a lot shorter than most names I like. I have [name_m]Amos[/name_m] on my list, but I have a [name_m]SIL[/name_m] and an aunt [name_f]Amy[/name_f], so it feels a little close. I like the long A sound a lot, so [name_u]Asa[/name_u] could work? nn [name_m]Ace[/name_m] (which I also can’t find any posts about? Maybe I’m just having search issues?)? Big sister is [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] nn [name_u]June[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] with the nickname [name_m]Ace[/name_m], very cool! I’m not sure how familiar people are with the name [name_u]Asa[/name_u], which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about name popularity/correcting pronunciations. Also, even though it is historically a boy name, with names like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f], people might think it’s a girl’s name.
But I think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is a cool name and you should use it if you love it!
I absolutely adore [name_u]Asa[/name_u], and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! I think he’s wonderful; I have him down as a nickname for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], personally.
I completely love [name_u]Asa[/name_u]! The name sounds like it has history, but still seems very fresh. I think shorter names have an understated strength to them, and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is one of my favorite short names. The only drawback is that it’s fairly unknown to most people, but imo that’s not a huge deal these days.
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] is amazing! [name_u]Love[/name_u] how cool, handsome and fresh it feels. I really like how it sounds with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] too
I like [name_u]Asa[/name_u]! I have a friend with a 5 year old named [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and I’ve always loved the sound of his name. [name_m]Ace[/name_m] is super cool!
Is it weird that it’s so much shorter than all my other names?
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] = 7 letters
Other potential names I am considering:
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] = 9 letters
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] = 8 letters
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] = 8 letters
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] = 8 letters
No, I don’t think it’s weird. Most of the time it’ll be heard rather than seen anyway. [name_m]Ace[/name_m] would be lacking a little substance compared to your other names, but [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is fine.
I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u]! It’s so handsome and sweet. I also love the nickname [name_m]Ace[/name_m] for it, I think it gives the name a little edge.
I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] are adorable together, and it’s not weird at all that it’s shorter.
(p.s. I think the search just might not be working, because I remember another post asking about [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and all of the comments on it were very positive!)
Middle names suggestions? I’m thinking something longer, probably 3 syllables. I keep thinking [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], but I have an alliteration issue (my daughter is already JJ and I always want to alliterate haha), and I think the double ‘uh’ sounds doesn’t work.
I absolutely love [name_u]Asa[/name_u]! I’ve toyed with adding him to my list, but I’m not QUITE there yet myself. I have a feeling, if he keeps growing on me, I probably will one day, though. I’m not fond of [name_m]Ace[/name_m], really, but I do love [name_u]Asa[/name_u] in full. I think [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] are fantastic together! I usually see [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] paired more with names like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] or [name_m]Amos[/name_m], that feel a bit more vintage and … raspy? I don’t know if that’s the right word, but [name_u]Asa[/name_u] feels all bold blues and turquoises to me, modern and with the purest, kindest, most generous heart. I imagine an [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] or an [name_m]Amos[/name_m] singing bluegrass or [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] [name_m]Cash[/name_m] covers, like a country music star form the 40s or 60s or something. They just have very different vibes to me, but I like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] better in general, and love the feels of [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] together! [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] are super cute.
ETA: If I used [name_u]Asa[/name_u], I’d probably use [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] [family name]. Probably [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m].
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] doesn’t have the best blow but I love it nonetheless! I’m also a sucker for alliteration so let me try to avoid that with these suggestions, lol
@hundredacre
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] I’m not the only one! I’m seriously considering having our next girl’s initials be MMM because I can’t think of a middle name I like better. I have cousins who all have alliterative fn/mn, and they’re all fine haha.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
It’s an amazing name that could really blend in with all the boys’ names that are hot right now, and I think it stands out enough without being over-the-top. It’s just a beautiful name overall
I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and I’m surprised you haven’t found much on the forums because I see it lots and it’s generally really well liked. As others have said, bang on-trend, cool, simple, soft-yet-strong, and miraculously underused.
I have it on my shortlist but DH is not so keen - apparently there’s a famous (female) porn star with the name? [name_m]Just[/name_m] a heads up!
