[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!
We’re expecting baby #7, and while we don’t plan to find out baby’s gender, if we hold to track record, this one will be boy #4. Our children’s names are in my signature. ![]()
We prefer Bible names that are fresher sounding for our boys. Each of our sons has a family name in the middle, although we’re kind of running out of those. Contenders for middle position this time around are [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Harold[/name_m], and maybe [name_m]Christoph[/name_m].
If our youngest daughter had been a boy, she would have been [name_m]Nehemiah[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I still love it, but my hubby wants some more choices. So far, the only other boy name that I’m loving on right now is [name_u]Asa[/name_u]. My husband likes it alright, but is reluctant to use a third “A” name.
Other names I’ve proposed that he has nixed: [name_m]Abram[/name_m], [name_m]Jethro[/name_m], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
Names that we like but are too popular: [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] (way more common in our circles than in the general population), [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
Names we cannot use, mostly due to close friend’s children: [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m], Ekeziel, [name_m]Judah[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
My husband really wants to avoid another “A” or “M” name. He also seems to hate every “G” name ever. We have a very [name_m]German[/name_m]-sounding 1-syllable last name that starts with “K”, so we want to avoid 1-syllable names as well. I try to avoid at least the top 50 in terms of popularity.
Oh, and positive meaning and/or namesake is important to us. No bad-guys-with-cool-names for us, if that makes sense.
Any ideas for us? I feel as though I have been through every possible choice over the past 13 years of baby naming!
Thanks in Advance!
congrats on your new mystery addition. I’m trying to think of some things but man you’re right you sure have looked over most of the Biblical options…
