The name Asherah means means “she who walks on the sea” And this this the name of a Semitic mother goddess. I really love this name. What do you think?
I love the sound, but not completely sold on the spelling. The look of the name is a little off to me. I really like the meaning though!
It’s handsome! I’d have to warm up to the sound a bit, but the meaning is amazing!
[name_f]Asherah[/name_f] is bold and interesting! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] meaning
I think it’s beautiful! It sounds soft and earthy to me, perfect for a mother goddess. [name_f]Awesome[/name_f] meaning too
I really love this name. I love the sound, the look, the meaning. It’s all amazing! [name_u]Ash[/name_u] or [name_f]Asha[/name_f] would make a fun nickname.
i love
I love the meaning… surely beats some of the names out there that have the most random meanings like “wood”. And I do like how it’s unique likely wouldn’t ever have a classroom filled with them…
I will say unfortunately that’s where my personal positives on the name end. Personally, I would categorize this name where I would put Jezebel—— a name that is “biblical” but in the Bible is only talked about in a negative context.
I feel there are times on NB one suggests a name, like [name_f]Hallelujah[/name_f], and posters put up all the red flags of how spiritually that might be a bad set up for the child down the line and Insee that pendulum swinging to the same extreme but in the other direction with this name.
I really like it. The meaning is lovely, and the mythology behind it is fascinating. However, the Biblical connotation is a bit of a downer. A word of warning if you live in a very religious [name_u]Christian[/name_u] area.
I can also see some pronunciation confusion - ah-SHER-uh (like the singer Cher) vs ah-SHEER-uh.
It is one of my favorite names. However, it has negative associations. It’s still usable though.
