[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I recently made a bandwagon post for āwhat names do you see for my childā and I was really surprised by how many people replied with [name_f]Agnes[/name_f].
I do have [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] on my list (probably my short list); she really has a lot of things going for her. Some of my favorite things about [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] are how she feels feminine but not frilly, is uncommon with an intuitive spelling/pronunciation. Thereās an [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] in my family tree, she works in different languages/cultures, Iāve floated [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] past a few people in my life and theyāve either liked it or at least didnāt actively dislike it.
What do you think of [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]?
I am totally fine with clunky names (love them actually). But I canāt quite get a read for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] IRL - is it tease-worthy or eyebrow raising?
How do you view [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]?
What do you think an [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] would be like? [name_m]Or[/name_m] the [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] aesthetic, whatever that means for you? For reference, the [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] in my head is a little bit like American [name_f]Girl[/name_f] [name_m]Doll[/name_m] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] with dark hair cut in bangs, tortoiseshell glasses, witty quips.
What middle name would you pick for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]?
Iāve had [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] on my list and currently have [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Liora[/name_f] in my UC. Neither feel quite right (Agnes [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] is a bit too aesthetic/dark academia to the point it doesnāt feel as much like a āreal name,ā and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Liora[/name_f] seems mismatched even for my eclectic style). Iām a little bit trying to avoid [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] reading too āprimā - Iād rather the combo lean retro, hipster, or powerful than proper or lacey.
Who are Agnesās siblings?
Lately Iāve been enjoying those clunky grandparent names (some might even describe them as ugly lol). I have a dog named [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and the name [name_m]Grover[/name_m] is on my list - I feel like that says it all. But [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] also works with some shorter, cozy, international favorites like [name_m]Bram[/name_m]. The only hard Nos I see are [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Margo[/name_f] because of Despicable Me.
Thank you so much in advance! I feel a bit silly saying āconvince me on this name that I already have on my listā but Iām hoping to take it to the next level here
