Atreus?

What are your thoughts on [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] for a boy? Is the connection to [name_m]God[/name_m] of War too strong? Is the connection to the Mythological figure too strong?

Also what are your thoughts on [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] or [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] ?

Neverending storrrrrrry ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

But I like it!

I’ve never heard of [name_m]God[/name_m] of War, but I see it’s a video game and since I’m not a video game person I don’t know if the connection would be stronger for other people. I also didn’t know the mythological connection without googling it and I would say I know a decent amount about mythology, though I’m not an expert by any means. I don’t think either association is too strong. [name_f]My[/name_f] main concern with the name would be how to pronounce it: ah-tray-us, ah-tree-us, ah-tray-oos?

I think both [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] are cool!

I am oddly ignorant about the meaning of the name, so no. I associate it with atrial fibrillation which I have and scares me, so that’s my only negative. [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] is great.

[name_m]Atreus[/name_m] has a cool sound and meaning!! I’ve never heard of [name_m]God[/name_m] of War, so not sure I can help there.

Makes me think of muscular atrophy.

I’ve never heard it before, it makes me think of ‘atrium’

I know both god of war and never ending story well. Neither is a bad or negative connection and I also don’t think anyone would assume they’re ere named after those things.

Im also a Greek mythology/ history buff and think of the kings of Mycenae. Also a neutral association and no one is going to assume the child/ person has anything to do with this.

I myself have used Antaeus as a middle name for one of my kids. Similar sounds a roots, it reminds me of it and has been perfectly usable and gets positive comments for me so far.

I think it has all the makings of a usable, cool name.

To me, [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] does not connect to [name_m]God[/name_m] of War but to the father of [name_m]Agamemnon[/name_m] and Menelaus, the king of Mycene. I personally prefer [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] to [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Atreus[/name_m]

I’ve never heard of it before but I like the sound!

[name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Atreus[/name_m] sounds cool too.

[name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] is actually the name from that movie. But they are very close.

Visually it’s reminding me of uterus.

[name_m]Atreus[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is such a terrific name!

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought is [name_m]God[/name_m] of War, but I’m a huge gamer. That said, the character is not a negative connection in the slightest, and I don’t think most people would make the association. Especially after a few more years when the sequel’s hype dies down.

I would love to meet a little (or grown!) [name_m]Atreus[/name_m]. Such a refreshing, sweet name. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
