Audrey vs Aubrey for a girl!

Howdy! I’m a newbie, if you can’t already tell, and not only that, but I am a teen who just so happens to love names! I obsess over a new name about every week and I can’t get them out of my head.
Sadly, the first time I heard the name “[name]Aubree[/name]” was while watching an episode of 16 and Pregnant and I was mesmerized to say the least. Mesmerized so, that I want to place the name on my daughter, if I ever have one! The problem, is that [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Aubree[/name], and [name]Aubrie[/name] are all becoming so incredibly popular and although, I do like the alternative which is an actual female name, [name]Audrey[/name], I just can’t see myself using it for a daughter. I thought maybe I could have her legally be [name]Audrey[/name] but call her [name]Aubrey[/name] but worry that that would incredibly confusing! I know I’m a little young to decide but, it’s a good time as any to know what I like! Lol! Can you guys help me, please!!!

[name]Audrey[/name] is timeless and classic [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Aubrey[/name] seems to be very trendy. I think it will become dated.

I like [name]Audrey[/name] better. I think of [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn. [name]Aubrey[/name] was original a male’s name.

I agree with this a lot. Lately I’ve met several guys with [name]Aubrey[/name] somewhere in their names, and I actually love it, I think [name]Aubrey[/name] is so striking on a guy. It’s too far gone for the girls for me to use it, but I would love to meet more guys named [name]Aubrey[/name]. I can’t see it on a girl at all anymore, even though I’ve known a couple.

I also think that [name]Aubrey[/name] feels very trendy. It kinda fits into that whole [name]Madison[/name] and [name]Addison[/name] for girl even though they are boys’ names! I feel like I should use [name]Audrey[/name] but not that I want to use it! I’m so stuck! It sucks because honestly, even though both names are gaining popularity, I know [name]Audrey[/name] is the better name. It even has a better meaning and it’s for A GIRL! But, I just can’t get on board!

I definitely prefer [name]Audrey[/name]. [name]Aubrey[/name] is way too trendy. By the time you have a daughter it would have an extremely dated feel.

[name]Audrey[/name] wins out for me, even though I do love [name]Aubrey[/name].

[name]Aubrey[/name] is like the new [name]Ashley[/name] too me, but it lacks a lot less substance on girls I feel.
I too, am not that captivated by [name]Audrey[/name] at all, but I don’t know if I’d actually use [name]Aubrey[/name] just yet. I feel like it’s too bottle blonde, superficial, party-girl type. Plus by male cousin is [name]Aubrey[/name], so I’d likely never use it on a girl.

I’d rather you name her just [name]Aubrey[/name] than [name]Audrey[/name] and nn [name]Aubrey[/name], it’s too much, and doesn’t make any sense to me.

Also perhaps you’d like:
[name]Gabriela[/name] nn Abrie --> [name]Aubrey[/name]
[name]Aubria[/name] nn [name]Aubrey[/name]
[name]Aubriana[/name] nn [name]Aubrey[/name]

Or do like my grandparents/mother and name her BLANK [name]Aubrey[/name], but call her by her middle name like they did for my mother and brother respectively.

Omg! I completely forgot about how [name]Gabriela[/name] has “[name]Abri[/name]” in it! Goodness. And although I think it could work as a middle name, I have no ideas! Plus, the middle name I liked was the “filler”, [name]Hope[/name]. I think I will just keep my eyes open and try to find something that works for me. I like [name]Audrey[/name] but love [name]Aubrey[/name] and maybe, hopefully, my name tastes will evolve over time!

My thoughts too. But the only [name]Aubrey[/name] I know is female, so I think of it as a girl’s name.

I find it odd that people think [name]Aubrey[/name] is trendy. The only [name]Aubrey[/name] I’ve ever known was a girl in my class when I was ten years old (I’m now in my thirties). I think if you prefer [name]Aubrey[/name] then you should go with [name]Aubrey[/name] (this spelling only though, or it will look trendy and dated). Either way, I wouldn’t worry about it too much seeing as you’re a teenager and by the time you have kids, your tastes might have changed.

[name]Aubrey[/name] is all boy to me. [name]Audrey[/name] is georgeous - for a girl.

I agree that [name]Aubrey[/name] is trendy, but I do think it’s quite cute. I don’t care for the [name]Aubree[/name] spelling, but [name]Aubrey[/name]'s nice.

[name]Audrey[/name] sounds elegant, [name]Aubrey[/name] sounds cute.

I like [name]Audrey[/name] better!

I personally prefer [name]Audrey[/name], but if it’s [name]Aubrey[/name] you like, it’s [name]Aubrey[/name] that should be on your list. Especially since you are so young:)
