Me again! Trying to do a family name and trying to do something with a G to honor my MIL ([name_f]Gail[/name_f])… Any clever/creative nicknames for [name_u]August[/name_u] beyond [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_m]Augie[/name_m]?
Thanks!

I love the name [name_u]August[/name_u], though when i hear it i imendently think of the book [name_f]Wonder[/name_f]!
I was listening to This American Life and there’s a story about a little girl - [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] - who goes by Tug. I kind of liked it! But might be a stretch? And no tie back to the G or [name_f]Gail[/name_f], unfortunately!
I like Tug. thats really cute! Wait, so did you want a name that has the nickname of [name_f]Gail[/name_f]??
Gusty
[name_f]Attie[/name_f]
Gez
Gaz
[name_m]Tag[/name_m]
Tug
I want something that honors my MIL, who is [name_f]Gail[/name_f] - so I’m thinking a “G” name - but I like names that end in a hard sound (“T”, “K”, “G”, etc) so [name_u]George[/name_u] isn’t my favorite, and we need something old-fashioned to go with our first son ([name_u]Bert[/name_u]), so I feel like [name_m]Garret[/name_m] and the like are out… but very open if you’ve got any ideas!
How about [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] to honour [name_f]Gail[/name_f]?
My husband dated a [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] - so I’m not keen on [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]!
Aw ok. Sorry. I like [name_u]August[/name_u].
Have you thought about [name_f]Gayle[/name_f] ? That sounds masculine you could have [name_f]Gayle[/name_f] as a middle name spot? Something like [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_f]Gayle[/name_f] or [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_f]Gayle[/name_f]? Or even [name_u]Gael[/name_u]?
August nickname [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m]!
August nn [name_u]Asa[/name_u]?
Maybe [name_u]August[/name_u] nn [name_f]Goldie[/name_f]? Au is gold on the periodic table
August [name_u]Gael[/name_u] would be
Gale spelt like this is a nice mn for a boy I think. [name_u]August[/name_u] is lovely too though. [name_m]Just[/name_m] made the [name_m]Gust[/name_m] and [name_u]Gale[/name_u] connection!
I heard that too! I thought it was weird for a girl, but I didn’t mind [name_u]Augustine[/name_u] on a girl as much as I thought I would. I do like the idea of Tug for a boy. Also, [name_m]Ace[/name_m]!
Love [name_u]Gus[/name_u], loathe [name_m]Augie[/name_m].
Sometimes I nickname people longer nicknames. Like I might call an [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Augusten[/name_m] or [name_m]Gustave[/name_m].
