[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I have two kids [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] (boy) and [name_f]Oona[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] (girl) and we are trying for our third baby currently. Not pregnant yet but hoping for soon!
[name_u]Sky[/name_u] cause we like it. Wulfric is a [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] name. And [name_u]Marlin[/name_u] is a family name.
But we’re having so much trouble agreeing on a girl name we both like.

These are all names we’ve talked about but aren’t set on.
Our ‘current’ girl name is

And it’s almost completely still up in the air.
My question is:
[name_f]Do[/name_f] any of those names “go” with my other kids names or do they all stick out as the weird one? Opinions on our boy name? Suggestions for other names that go with my style? Opinions on the name [name_f]Maple[/name_f]? My husband says it sounds like a stripper name and comments on Nameberry aren’t positive.
[name_f]Maple[/name_f] is not my favourite name in the world. However, I do like it, even with the association it does sound like a really fresh nature name.
I think [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_f]Maple[/name_f] do go together. Ones that stick out to me are [name_f]Evening[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. But that’s only because of their sounds. [name_f]Evening[/name_f] and [name_f]Oona[/name_f] have the same long drawn out syllable at the beginning of the names. [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] ends in A like [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and I don’t like the repetition of sounds. This sort of happens with [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] both having the “ou” sound. But thats just a personal thing/what sticks out to me. Obviously (or maybe not obviously) these links are what you find appealing in a name.
I quite like [name_f]Maple[/name_f], and [name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Wildrose is STUNNING. Other names I would suggest that are similar but not the same sounds are:
ALSO, as for the stripper name association, I [name_f]DO[/name_f] NOT have that at all lol. I actually know a young teen named [name_f]Maple[/name_f] that I have worked with before. She is sweet and shy and quite timid. I would also say she dresses rather conservatively, although it was office work, however she still dressed like teen with dress clothes and often sneakers. So when I think of a [name_f]Maple[/name_f], I think of her.

I think they all work except for [name_f]Evening[/name_f]! Most of the others are unusual but on-trend, just like big sister [name_f]Oona[/name_f].

I love that you’re using both a name from a series you love, and a family name. However, I think Wulfric and [name_u]Marlin[/name_u] are too much together, especially compared to his siblings’ much more “normal” middle names. [name_u]Sky[/name_u] isn’t my style, I find it dated to the 2000’s and more of a girl name, but we all have different tastes and that’s great!
Opinions on the name [name_f]Maple[/name_f]?
[name_f]Maple[/name_f] is actually my favorite name from your list, followed up by [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]! It’s so cute and sweet, but usable because of [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] gaining popularity and the nature names trend. There’s actually a poem by [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_u]Frost[/name_u] about a girl named [name_f]Maple[/name_f], which just makes me love the name more.

As for your boy name, I think that [name_u]Sky[/name_u] is pretty cool. I’d probably opt fo [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] nn [name_u]Sky[/name_u]; that way he’d have a slightly more masculine full name.
Thanks! I agree with a lot of names being similar sounds. [name_f]Juno[/name_f] would have been THE name of it wasn’t so similar to [name_f]Oona[/name_f]. The natural nn for [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Junie[/name_f]/[name_f]Juni[/name_f] and we already have Oon/Ooni (what we call her at home). And To call her [name_u]June[/name_u] would be the second month name in our family.
I think [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is perfection with your sibset! [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are among my favorite names and I really love [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] too.
O’m sorry. But I do not feel as the name will go with the other siblings. Also: she will be forever correcting people as they will think she is saying [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].
