[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
I am new to nameberry–well new posting to nameberry-- I lurk quite often. Me and my husband are ttc so I am not pregnant yet, just getting prepared I guess! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone can share their opinions on the name [name_f]Augustina[/name_f]? I have fallen in love with it! And which names could you see as sisters or brothers with [name_f]Augustina[/name_f]? Thanks!
I really like it, though I prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] & maybe like [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] a bit better. It’s really nice though. I could see it working with all kinds of names. Anything classic, vintage, nature inspired, really I could see it working with plenty! It has a dreamy quality and a bit of glamor. Nice choice.
Thanks! I thought about [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] but the sound is so harsh for me… [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] really seems to be a lot nicer sounding! Thank you for your comments.
Stunning name!! [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] sounds regal & strong I also love [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], even [name_u]August[/name_u]. Cheers.
[name_f]Augustina[/name_f]! I love it. I’ve never come across it before, but I am instantly a fan! I love [name_u]August[/name_u] for a boy, but [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] always seemed so harsh to me, and I always think of St. [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] with [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] (which makes it completely unfeminine to me, haha). [name_f]Augustina[/name_f], though? It reminds me of those over-the-top, elaborate, feminissima -tina names, like [name_f]Florentina[/name_f], [name_f]Clementina[/name_f]/[name_f]Klementyna[/name_f], [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], etc., but with a summery twist! I still struggle with liking any nicknames for it ([name_m]Augie[/name_m]/Auggie and [name_u]Gus[/name_u]/[name_u]Gussie[/name_u]/[name_f]Gustie[/name_f] all seem masculine to me, and [name_f]Tina[/name_f]'s too dated for my tastes), but I think [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] is really cool.
Good luck!
Thanks everyone!
I definitely agree with you ashthedreamer especially on the nicknames, but I think [name_u]August[/name_u] as a nickname would work just fine while avoiding the horrendous [name_u]Gus[/name_u] or any of the other nicknames.
I prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] but I really like [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] as well. It always baffles me a little when people use [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] because to me that’s a boys name and I think [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] is a nice alternative.
I know two Augustinas (one called [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gusta[/name_f] and one without a nickname - at least not one that I know of). The first one’s siblings are J.o.h.a.n.n.a and T.h.o.m.a.s. and the second one’s siblings are V.e.r.o.n.i.k.a, L.e.o.n.o.r.a and R.o.s.a.l.i.n.a. All fairly long names. I like [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] and J.o.h.a.n.n.a together.
I like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_f]Augustina[/name_f], I think that is quite a swoonworthy set of names.
I love [name_f]Augustina[/name_f], it is my favorite from that family of [name_u]August[/name_u] names. It is elaborate and feminine.
Oh and [name_f]Fernanda[/name_f]. [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] and [name_f]Fernanda[/name_f] sound smashing together. Perhaps too heavy for sisters in real life, but I still really like the names together.
