Aurelia

I’ve been crushing on this name lately. However, I’ve been pronouncing it as Aw-RELL-ya, but when I looked at the nameberry entry it says the pronunciation is Aw-REEL-ya. What is the correct pronunciation? And how do you pronounce the name?

I personally say it Aw-REEL-ya, rhyming it with [name]Cecilia[/name]. I think [name]Aurelia[/name] is like [name]Helena[/name]-there are multiple correct pronunciations.

Aw-REEL-ya

Aw reel ya!

I pronounce [name]Ah[/name]-reel-lee-ah
This is not my style.

I pronounce it as Or-[name]EL[/name]-eea, at its a form of [name]Ora[/name]/[name]Orelia[/name]. Its also a [name]Magic[/name] card, and that’s how most people pronounce it when they talk about it, haha! Its a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning.

You can’t always trust Nameberry pronounciations; I looked up my grandmother’s name [name]Ione[/name], and it said it was pronounced EE-own. My grandma and many others with this name pronounce it EYE-own.

Aw-RELL-ya

I have a grand aunt with that name.

In Latin class, back in the day, our teacher had us pronouncing ah-REEL-ee-ah. I actually quite love this name.

Aw-ray-lee-uh. It’s one of my favourite names! I pronounce it the same was as [name]Colin[/name] [name]Firth[/name] in [name]Love[/name] Actually.

This is sort of how I pronounce it. Though probably a little more Awe-REEL-ee-ah than [name]Ah[/name]-REEL-ee-ah.

Yes, if we end up using [name]Aurelia[/name] for [name]Catherine[/name]'s middle name, that’s how we’d pronounce it. I think it sounds prettiest that way!

I pronounce it as Aw-rell-ee-ah  It’s a gorgeous name.

I pronounce it Aw-ray-lee-uh. I agree, that’s the prettiest.

Aw-ray-lee-ah is how I say it.

I say it like, “uh-RAYL-ya”
I think it’s great!

Aw reel ee ah. It just reminds me or Areola(nipple).
