Boys names have really become boring and lackluster to me lately. So I thought I’d ask you for some Australian choices that may be obscure in the U.S. yet still familiar (or not.)
I am not Australian but I know some australian names tho!
Burril
Dalman
Eithan
Thanks! Eithan is interesting.
Most of the names in Australia are pretty similar to names in the US, but some big trends here are names with x such as [name]Braxton[/name] & [name]Jaxon[/name], also names such as [name]Tyson[/name], [name]Spencer[/name] and [name]Lincoln[/name] are getting big in Australia.
[name]One[/name] of my friends here in [name]Melbourne[/name] is named, Killara and personally i love it
Hiya, I’m from NZ and am a preschool teacher here, some names that I have come across and like include …
[name]Cameron[/name]
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Kellan[/name]
[name]Xavier[/name]
[name]Aiden[/name]
[name]Angus[/name]
[name]Hamish[/name] and
[name]Cole[/name].
All the best in finding your perfect boys name
There are lots of these where I live in Canberra.
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name]
[name]Hamilton[/name]
[name]Joseph[/name]
[name]George[/name]
[name]Harry[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
Ooooo I [name]LOVE[/name] Killara, I havent heard that one…rethinking name choices now
I quickly googled some Australian boy names and liked these:
[name]Lachlan[/name]
[name]Ace[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]
[name]Hugh[/name]
[name]Logan[/name]
[name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Hamish[/name] and [name]Lachlan[/name] are the two that spring to mind. [name]Lachlan[/name] is top 10 and Top 3 in some states. Lachie/Lachy is the normal NN.
[name]Banjo[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]
[name]Lawson[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name]
There are a lot of Sidneys?? Oh wow, I would love for that name to come back for boys here. I love the laid back but cool and friendly vibe all these names have.
And [name]Hamilton[/name]? I wonder if that name has any potential here because Americans have [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Hamilton[/name] in our history who was not exactly our most reputable founding father.
I’m in [name]Sydney[/name], names I hear often are [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Charlie[/name], [name]Harry[/name], [name]Sam[/name] and [name]Lucas[/name]. But more interesting names with an Aussie feel would include [name]Banjo[/name], [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Lawson[/name], [name]Ned[/name] and Tasman.
Thanks everyone! These are nice. (: I like quite a few. [name]Banjo[/name] sticks out the most I think, but I’m not sure if I’m that brave. lol Maybe unusually cool MN material? [name]Hamilton[/name] is great!
