We had [name]Avalon[/name] on our girls list, but crossed it off quite early on. Yesterday when I and [name]Jake[/name] were talking about baby names, he mentioned [name]Avalon[/name] again and said how much he truly loved it. I want to love it as much as he does, but I don’t know…there’s something stopping me.
What do you think of [name]Avalon[/name] for a little girl? I would probably use [name]Ava[/name]/[name]Ave[/name] or Avey as nicknames on occasion. Is [name]Avalon[/name] worth thinking more about, or should we leave it behind?
I actually think it’s a really cool name. I would probably use [name]Avi[/name] for [name]Avalon[/name], but I also think [name]Ava[/name] is pretty. With [name]Drake[/name], it’s a solid choice.
I think it’s a gorgeous name, but not quite right for a person…i.e. we named our cat [name]Avalon[/name] because, while we love the name, we didn’t think it would really work on a little girl/teenager/adult.
I like [name]Avalon[/name], but I am not a fan of [name]Ava[/name] as a nn for it. I think it is too common of a name and lost its appeal for me a long time ago. [name]Val[/name] or [name]Avie[/name] would be more my cup of tea. I think [name]Avalon[/name] goes well with [name]Drake[/name]. What a I don’t like about [name]Avalon[/name], is that it is a common enough brand name and business name. Toyota has a car named [name]Avalon[/name].
I think [name]Avalon[/name] is beautiful, but if it doesn’t feel right to you, perhaps the similar option of Avonlea (ah-vuhn-[name]LEE[/name]) will appeal to you.
[name]Avalon[/name] is a pretty name, but as others have posted it is a common name for a brand or a type of car. I say if you are not sure about it then don’t use it. I am sure that y’all can come up with a name you both love. I do like someone else’s suggestion of the name Avonlea. That is a beautiful name, it’s the name of a place from the books [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables by L.M. [name]Montgomery[/name], great books!
I adore [name]Avalon[/name] with the nn [name]Lonnie[/name]. It has been in my top twenty for a long time now. I would keep it on your list for now since your SO seems to like it. Maybe it will grow on you.
