I’m looking for honest opinions on this name. It’s been growing on me more and more over the past several months or so.
My brother is in the [name]Air[/name] Force, finishing his tech training right now, and his top choice for placement once he finishes is Aviano [name]Air[/name] Force Base in [name]Italy[/name]. So far, he loves the [name]Air[/name] Force, and I thought [name]Aviana[/name] would be a sweet way to honor him if his first placement is at Aviano. [name]Even[/name] if he doesn’t get placed there, I still really like the name.
Also, do you think [name]Arianne[/name] (my second pick for a girl) and [name]Aviana[/name] are too close for sisters? Is it too close if [name]Arianne[/name] is a FN and [name]Aviana[/name] is a MN? If I used [name]Arianne[/name], I would use the nn [name]Ari[/name], and I’d use [name]Avie[/name] (AY-vee) or [name]Ava[/name] as a nn for [name]Aviana[/name].
Last question–do you think [name]Aviana[/name] goes well with the names in my signature? Most of the names on my short list I think are pretty and sweet. I think [name]Aviana[/name] is pretty, but it feels more exotic than all my other choices.
I think that [name]Aviana[/name] and [name]Arianne[/name] are quite close for sisters. You’d really only being changing a couple letters. [name]Aviana[/name] reminds me of the bottled water [name]Evian[/name]. I’m not really a fan. Though I do appreciate you wanting to honor your brother this way. My SO has his private pilot license and plans to join the air force as well. I’ve also thought of naming a child after this, though mine are a bit more abstract in [name]Maverick[/name] - after his favourite movie character, or [name]Arrow[/name] - after his favourite airplane. But I would use both of these for a boy.
Honestly? I thought this was a new wave of bird name variations…and looking at nameberry’s entry for this name it appears I was on the right track. Also appears that others have thought of the Aviano, [name]Italy[/name] connection as well.
[name]Aviana[/name] really does not appeal to me, though I’m not sure why when we had [name]Falcon[/name] on our short list of consideration. I think maybe it’s a little too much on the frilly side for me. It does seem a bit more exotic than your other girl names though not wildly so.
I think that [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Aviana[/name] are too close for sisters, even with the nicknames. If you did both names together in combination it would almost have to be like the 1890’s names with a rhyme and alliteration and all that other good stuff like [name]Arianna[/name] [name]Aviana[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. Too much for me, personally, even though I’m a fan of two middle names. If you put another name between [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Aviana[/name] I’m still not seeing the nice contrast of sounds like you’ve put together with your other favorites.
lol. By having [name]Arianne[/name] as a FN and [name]Aviana[/name] as a MN, I wasn’t really meaning in the same combo. I had considered [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Aviana[/name] [name]Grace[/name] instead of [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. Or something like [name]Lila[/name] [name]Aviana[/name] [name]Noelle[/name] or something. [name]Just[/name] as examples.
The more I think about it, the less sure I am. I mean, in addition to having [name]Arianne[/name] on my top 2, [name]Liliana[/name] is also on my top 10, and there is no way I would have an [name]Arianne[/name], an [name]Aviana[/name], AND a [name]Liliana[/name]. I’ve kept both [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Liliana[/name] together since they have significance as they are, and I think [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Liliana[/name] as sisters is just different enough (even though they are fairly matchy). [name]Arianne[/name], [name]Aviana[/name], and [name]Liliana[/name] is just too much. I’m not sure I’ve ruled [name]Aviana[/name] out yet, but I don’t even know if he’ll be placed at Aviano, so it could be a mute point. I love the idea of incorporating something from the [name]Air[/name] Force to honor him, though. He is training (and completed basic training) at Lackland AFB, so I’ve been thinking of possibly using [name]Lachlan[/name] as a MN for a boy or something.
When I saw your question, I immediately think of aviation. After reading your question, I think it’s a great way to honour your brother.
I really love [name]Arianne[/name]! And since I think [name]Avie[/name] is a lot more distinct as [name]Aviana[/name]'s nickname, I do think [name]Avie[/name] and [name]Ari[/name] is too close. So using one of them as a middle name is a better option.
It does go well, but it is slightly more uncommon than the other girl names on your list. The again it could always have the middle spot.
By the way, [name]Arianne[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] (with or without [name]Kate[/name]) is gorgeous.
I am not the biggest fan of [name]Aviana[/name] but it has potential I think [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Aviana[/name] are different enough but [name]Ari[/name] and [name]Avi[/name] are awfully close that they would probably get confused. I think [name]Aviana[/name] would do better in an MN spot with another name, I think [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Aviana[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is very cute with tons of spunk Good [name]Luck[/name]
I think [name]Aviana[/name] is pretty, and the reasoning behind your choosing it is sweet. I would point out to you that [name]Aviana[/name] is a goddess in the World of Warcraft game, and anyone who plays the game will be familiar with her.
lol, I’m amused at all the old posts of mine that people keep resurrecting today!
[name]Aviana[/name] is not a consideration any more. There are other ways I can honor my brother, and I have grown to much prefer [name]Arianne[/name] to [name]Aviana[/name]. It’s nice… just not as special as [name]Arianne[/name] is, to me. Besides, he didn’t get into Aviano like he wanted, so I think it would kind of be like a slap in the face for him, unless he gets stationed there before I adopt…
