Avril?

I would just like to know some opinions on this name. I hadn’t thought about it until now and I’m kind of liking it. At first I thought it sounded too American (I live in the UK) but then I realised its actually [name_m]French[/name_m] for [name_f]April[/name_f] so really it’s not American at all - I just thought that because of [name_f]Avril[/name_f] Levigne. I like both English and [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciations of it (Av-ril and Av-reel). What do you think?

Hmm. I’m not sure that I like [name_f]Avril[/name_f]. I have only heard it pronounced as AY-vrill or [name_m]AH[/name_m]-vrill (both English pronunciations). I do love [name_f]April[/name_f], though.

[name_f]Avril[/name_f] Lavigne is Canadian, [name_m]French[/name_m] names/spellings are pretty common up there.

I was a huge fan of [name_f]Avril[/name_f] Lavigne growing up. I like it.

I obviously like it

I like it.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_u]Averil[/name_u]/ [name_u]Averill[/name_u]? Similar sound, and feels more British to me (possibly the Anglo-[name_m]Saxon[/name_m] origin, possibly because it’s a bit old-fashioned).

[name_u]Averil[/name_u] is quite pretty, I’ve never heard it before. The only problem I could see is it being too similar to [name_f]April[/name_f] and mispronunciations. I do like it though, it has that nice [name_f]Ave[/name_f] sound which I’ve always liked.
