Ayla

What do you think of Ayla? Do you say it A-la with a hard A as the A in Hayley? Do you like Isla more?

I’d personally pronounce it Ay-la.

I know two girls with this name who both pronounce it like Isla so that’s how i instinctively say it

Interesting I mean with a hard A like Kayla without the K

I like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], and I pronounce it Ay-luh, or the letter A followed by -luh.

I like it quite a bit! I would pronounce it as Ay-la, and definitely prefer it over [name_f]Isla[/name_f].

I love it, and pronounce it A-luh too. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband unfortunately vetoed it due to a character in a book.

I would pronounce it Eye-la, but could easily understand Ale-uh (like Kayla) too.

I love [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]! Prononuced ay-lah, not like eye-luh. I think it’s about equal in my mind with [name_f]Isla[/name_f].

I’ve always liked Ayla (Kayla minus the K) and prefer it over Isla. It’s not out of this world interesting, but it’s a nice sound!

Ay-luh (ay rhyming with pay) is my instinctive pronunciation but Eye-luh wouldn’t surprise me.

The most natural way for me to say it is [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] without the ā€˜K’. I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f] more though! It’s more straightforward, and I find ā€˜Y’s’ in the middle of names a bit awkward looking.

I adore [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]! [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is on my short list. I love it for the Hebrew origins, so I say like AY-lah (like Hayley) as a Jewish berry friend once told me that’s how it’s said in Hebrew. I vastly prefer it to [name_f]Isla[/name_f], which still reminds me of [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] well enough (she’s beautiful written out! I totally get why she’s popular), but I adore [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]. I also love that it means ā€œterebinth treeā€ā€“sort of a subtle tie to my own name meaning ā€œash tree meadowā€. I don’t know that she fits altogether that well with most of my favorites (except maybe the other Hebrew names like Tali), but [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] makes me happy, so she sticks around. I’d love to meet an [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] in real life!

It reminds me of pirate talk.

I didn’t even realize it was said the same way as [name_f]Isla[/name_f], which I like.

I know one who pronounces it like [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and one who pronounces it ā€œay-laā€. I personally love it and it’s a long time favorite of mine- I’m so sad it’s gotten so popular! I like both pronunciations equally

I pronounce [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] the same way as [name_f]Isla[/name_f] (EYE-la). I used to know someone with this name, that’s how they pronounced it, so I’ve always seen it this way.

I say it to rhyme with [name_f]Kayla[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Isla[/name_f], but [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is getting pretty common. [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is a refreshing choice!

I love it pronounced like [name_f]Isla[/name_f].

I pronounce it like eye-la. I like it but it’s pretty dated where I live so I slightly prefer [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. It’s a nice name though!

I would assume AY-la, rhyming with [name_f]Layla[/name_f].

I have also heard EYE-la, like [name_f]Isla[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Isla[/name_f] personally but it’s a pretty and very on trend name.
