Azalee?

Thoughts on the name [name]Azalee[/name]? I want both girl’s names to have a meaning to do with music and singing and [name]Azalee[/name] means singer. It would match up with Zemirah.

The pronunciation is [name]Ah[/name]-zah-lee.

It sounds very foreign and she might have pronunciation issues, but it’s a beautiful name and goes great with Zamirah!

I have only heard of [name]Azalee[/name] as a French version of [name]Azalea[/name] and it’s pronounced ah-zah-[name]LAY[/name] due to the accent on the first “e”. Another spelling alternative is Azelie with the accent on the first “e” as well (ah-ZAY-lee). The name does go well with Zemirah as both have an exotic vibe to them. Good luck, [name]Mischa[/name].

Thanks! I have to say I think I like ‘Azelie’ even better than [name]Azalee[/name]. This definitely has me thinking. With all the different pronunciations, it does make me worry a little. Have to get it past the DH first anyway though.

There’s this little town in [name]England[/name] called Azerley which I was convinced I was going to bestow upon a child a few years ago! [name]Azalee[/name] reminds me of it because with my accent I pronounce the two the same haha. I think I prefer Azelie too, but you’re right about the pronunication issues it might run into…It does go beautifully with Zemirah!

I like Azerley too! Though I think Azelie is my favorite still. I am a nickname persons, So Zemi for Zemirah. Azie or Zeli? I will sit and ponder that for awhile now…lol.

Beautiful name!! The spelling [name]Azalee[/name] looks trendy, and made up. (Sorry, it’s the double e ending.) I love the name though.

I adore the similar name, Azelie! Especially with the acute accent over the e. We almost named our daughter Azelie, but went with [name]Eva[/name] [name]Natalia[/name] instead (with an acute accent over the e). Our next daughter will be [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name], but if we are blessed with 3 daughters, our third will be Azelie [name]Francesca[/name].

[name]Love[/name] all your names! I felt like [name]Azalee[/name] looked made up too because of all the [name]Kaylee[/name], [name]Kylee[/name], etc names. That’s why I was so excited when [name]Mischa[/name] suggested “Azelie!”

I don’t like it. When I looked at it, I saw [name]Alize[/name] (as in the liquor). What about [name]Azalea[/name] instead??

While I love floral names, they are very pretty, they’ve never been my style. And now I am realizing that Azelie completely changes the meaning from [name]Azalee[/name], which means singer…
