Azula

[name_f]Pam[/name_f] and [name_f]Linda[/name_f], PLEASE add Azula to the NB database! I believe it comes from the word azul, which is Spanish for blue. I think Azula is a lovely name and deserves to be on this website.

Thanks in advance!

I second this!

Azula was a character on the Nickelodeon Cartoon ā€œAvatar: The Last Airbenderā€ (that has since ended) which was a very popular cartoon across all demographics. It is the reason the name came more to mainstream prominence. For any anime-style fan the name has strong connotation to the character, like the name [name_f]Madonna[/name_f] has to the artist.
Google the name and all you see are pictures and references to the character. The show even reached the best cable show viewing for the week.

She was also very sociopathic.

Its a [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name !! I think there is a user here with a daughter named Azula .

@giinkies: I personally donā€™t have a problem that. I find it the same as naming your child the surname of a celebrity (ie: [name_u]Tatum[/name_u], [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], etc.).

@[name_f]Belle[/name_f]: Thanks! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know who the user with the daughter named Azula is? Can you PM her to see if she can give more background on the name?

[name_f]Pam[/name_f] and [name_f]Linda[/name_f]ā€¦pleeeease put this on the database!

@[name_f]Em[/name_f] : I just PM her

@[name_f]Belle[/name_f]: Thanks.

My daughter is named Azula. The name appealed to us because of its beautiful and exotic sound and meaning.

[name_f]Azul[/name_f] is a Spanish unisex name simply meaning ā€œblueā€, but the added ā€˜aā€™ in Azula helps make it more feminine.

Alternately, Azula can be considered a derivative of [name_f]Zula[/name_f], a South African tribal name meaning ā€œBrilliantā€.

[name_u]Grey[/name_u] DeLisle did the voice acting for the [name_f]Princess[/name_f] Azula character in ā€œAvatar: The Last Airbenderā€ which first aired in 2005. The character Azula has the ability to control the element of fire, and can produce unique blue flames.

@kaiteydenberg: Thanks for your input! I love the name Azula, and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] makes the perfect combo.

No problem.

I agree, Azula would be a great addition to the database!
