Aalish (pronouced AY-lish)
Aalin (pronounced AY-lin)
Voirrey = Manx verison of [name]Mary[/name] (I think it’s voor-ree)
Graihagh (pronounced ‘greya’)
Margaid = Manx version of [name]Margaret[/name] (pronounced [name]MAR[/name]-ged)

Pheric = Manx verison of [name]Patrick[/name]
Mian = Manx verison of [name]Michael[/name] (pronounced MY-an)
Illiam = Manx verison of [name]William[/name]
[name]Juan[/name] = Manx verison of [name]John[/name] (pronounced JOO-an)

Thanks so much for posting this, [name]Elea[/name], and a huge thanks for providing pronunciations at the bottom!

Have a great day!

Wow, I really Like Aalish and Illiam. Thanks for posting these!

Here’s a link for more Manx names:

Great link unicorngal! I love that site. I have it in my favourites

Wow, nice list! I was surprised to see [name]Mackenzie[/name] as a boys’ name, also [name]Francis[/name] for a girl. (The typical girls’ spelling is [name]Frances[/name].)

Actually, [name]McKenzie[/name]/[name]Mackenzie[/name] is much more popular on boys than girls here in the UK. Probably because we take the “son of” meaning more literally. [name]Both[/name] spellings appear in the top #150 in [name]England[/name] and [name]Wales[/name] for boys – but only the [name]Mackenzie[/name] spelling just breaks the top #300. That’s more than double!

Last year in [name]Scotland[/name], for example 81 baby boys were called [name]Mackenzie[/name] (in all various spellings) compared to 44 girls.

There were also 73 boy Kenzies compared to 32 girl Kenzies.

We tend to gender-bend less here in [name]Britain[/name]. [name]Finlay[/name], [name]Bryn[/name], [name]Dylan[/name], [name]Cameron[/name], [name]Ryan[/name] are all solidly male and even [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Mackenzie[/name], [name]Riley[/name], [name]Taylor[/name] and [name]Jordan[/name] are more likely to be found on boys.

[name]How[/name] interesting! Thank you so much for posting this, [name]Elea[/name]. I particularly love Cushla, [name]Lula[/name] and Voirrey

how do you prn Graihagh?

I’ve put the pronunciations at the bottom of the post.

Graihagh is ‘greya’ (rhymes with [name]Freya[/name] / [name]Leia[/name])
