Babies due April-June 2021

@LynnG “Can you squeeze me in?” just made me laugh. Like it’s a hair appointment.

@LiliMorgana hahaha I’m pretty sure my appts with my hair dresser are actually longer than the csection, come to think of it.

@kiriko and @LibelluleClaire I’ve been having last minute naming cold feet too. We were pretty set on [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and calling her [name_f]Greta[/name_f], but a few people have been confused by that or said “why not just name her Greta?” But talked it over with husband and remembered it’s because he won’t agree to just [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. So I think we will stick with the plan unless I have a change of heart after the birth.

@LibelluleClaire I got referred to mfm after a concerning ultrasound and actually had a good experience. They were better at reading the ultrasound so some of the things my OB had been concerned about they were able to tell were actually fine.

@LynnG Sorry about the migraines, those sound awful!

Can’t believe baby will be here so soon! I’ve accepted that our house is not going to be in perfect order and hopefully my mom won’t mind doing a little cleaning while she’s here waiting for us to come home from the hospital :woman_shrugging:. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone and their babies are staying healthy!

[name_u]Happy[/name_u] [name_f]Easter[/name_f] to those who celebrate! Hubby has to work and I didn’t want to drive 3 hrs each way to my parents this close to my due date, so it’s another low key day at home for me. Somehow easier than being alone last Easter.

[name_m]Friday[/name_m] night I was restless with heartburn and [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] Hicks, and a crazy amount of burping lol. Woke up [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] morning and could tell right away that baby has dropped! One of my apps said that could happen at 36 weeks, but I was surprised to see it happen so obviously at exactly 36 weeks to the day!

Hoping that means she will be making her appearance here in the next couple weeks! Overall I recognize I’ve had a pretty easy pregnancy, but I’m so ready to meet our meet or little girl and it’s starting to feel like I’ve been pregnant forever lol.

@LynnG that sounds so miserable! And how frustrating they’re making you wait! I wish the medical field was better at actually listening to women!

@LibelluleClaire I love Holiday! What a sweet name! Sorry the doctors are making you worry!

@LiliMorgana That’s good news you won’t need insulin, but frustrating they’re using that as an excuse not to induce you!

@sarah1800 I love Margaret/Greta! I love names that have nickname options – growing up I always wished my name could be nicknamed (and wasn’t quite so popular lol).

[name_f]My[/name_f] house is nowhere near in perfect order either! It’s good your mom will be able to come help after baby. [name_f]My[/name_f] my mom can be kind of judgmental a out my (lack of) housekeeping, but hopefully I get a pass for just haven given birth when she visits to see the baby lol. I know my MIL and SIL will pitch in to help as well if needed.

I finally got my nursery set up! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though baby [name_f]Callie[/name_f] will sleep in our room in the pack n play at first, it feels good to have her room ready!20210404_140628 20210404_140521 20210404_140449 20210404_140429

@LaurenAlexis squeee i am loving that turquoise crib

We also have that same kind of backpack (in the same color, too), and it’s been our favorite of all of the suppliea-carrying options we have tried.

Sometimes “having family come over to help” looks more lile “having to entertain company while being completely wrecked from childbirth.” In that scenario, definitely feel at liberty to stiff-arm / delay as much as you want to. Your recovery and well-being comes FIRST, and NOT other people’s desire to see the new baby.

The [name_f]April[/name_f] folks are getting so close, yay! (@LynnG I sure hope it’s soon for you, sorry things have been so rough.)

I was 30 weeks yesterday, so 3/4 of the way there! And we will be cleared for a legal midwife-assisted homebirth at 37 weeks, so that’ll be a big milestone. Time to start thinking about freezer meals, which was some of the best prep I did before the births of my boys. And I need to obtain another dresser or two before getting newborn clothes back out and washed. I need to inventory the supplies I still have from my last birth to see whether I need to order an entire birth kit this time.

Still haven’t settled on a boy name :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:, but everyone is still saying it’s a girl.

No complaints except that my pelvis is starting to ache at night (time to break out the extra pillows) and my intestines are being squeezed into weird places again :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@auroradawn thanks! I figure, 3 weeks more, MAX at this point. Last pregnancy, so excited. Get to meet new person, very excited.

Speaking of which, who’s thinking they’ll meet baby first in this group?

Yes! Frozen preprepared meals are major life savers. I made ‘padcicles’ and froze those ahead of time, which were maaaajor life savers as well

Squeee all the baby clothes  feel free to drop some images of your favorite little outfits in the thread if you feel up to sharing

Ooof yes those pelvic ligaments need support. Aaaall the pillows! This past week or so, my pelvic, ligaments got Sooo bad that I could barely move and was incredibly afraid of falling. No sleep position, amt of pillows, stretches helped. Everythign was just locked and seized up. So I tried sleeping sitting up one night (with the help of some heavy duty sleep aids), and they all released! Crazy.

@sarah1800 thanks! Honestly now that I’ve calmed down a bit I feel like I might actually be happier with the mfm people. I love my Dr. but she’s more of a family dr. who specializes in obgyn rather than than an obgyn, so sometimes I feel like she isn’t as knowledgeable about pregnancy/pregnancy problems as a dr. who ONLY does obgyn would be. Plus baby has really picked up her movements these last two weeks, which makes me feel better as well.

@LaurenAlexis thanks! I really love Holiday, just sometimes panic. You’re nursery is so cute! I love the colors! We finally pulled ours together, and ended up going with a bunny theme (probably cause of the time of year, and there’s lots of bunny things around right now!)

@LynnG I hope you get your date set soon! And I’m so sorry those migraines sound miserable :sob:

I was just thinking about who has their due dates coming up soon now that we’re officially in April! I still have 2 months to go so as much as Im ready to not be pregnant I don’t think it’s gonna be me. Though we did get her coming home outfit! At least this is the one we plan on her wearing home.

But we actually have 4 outfits we’re bringing…we have 2 newborn sized ones, (for warm or colder weather, it’s still definitely spring weather here) but we’re also bringing a preemie sized one (our first wore preemie sizes for the first 2 months) and a 0-3 month one, just in case. Which is totally not necessary but I liked to be prepared.

Hey all! I’ve been trying to keep up with everything. [name_m]Just[/name_m] haven’t posted much as there (thankfully) hasn’t been anything eventful going on. I’m sorry some of you all are dealing with tough stuff. Good thoughts/prayers/positive vibes to everyone dealing with stressful things/provider issues/health issues/etc right now!

I have my first GD screening this afternoon. I didn’t have it with my first pregnancy, but I know that doesn’t really mean anything, so I’m a little anxious about that. For some reason, I just have a feeling I’m not going to pass this first screener. No reason for that feeling, but it’s there nonetheless. Have to get the first of my Rhogam shots today, as well. I recall that being rather uncomfortable my first pregnancy, so today is just a fun day. haha

We have a 30 week ultrasound next week, so I’m looking forward to seeing baby girl’s face again (if she cooperates). With our first daughter, we’d been going to weekly ultrasounds for 10 weeks at this point, so it feels very strange to wait a month or more in between ultrasounds this time around.

We’ve been (slowly) working on the nursery and trying to get that situated, make sure we have enough clothes for the new baby, diapers, etc. [name_m]Just[/name_m] trying to pick up items here and there that we still need so we aren’t buying everything all at once at the last minute. We still have about two and a half months left, so there’s a good bit of time left to prepare, but I was born nearly two months early, so that’s in the back of my mind too. haha Hopefully, we’ll have the nursery finished this week, anyway.

That outfit is aaadorable!

Yes, definitely so smart to bring a PM (preemie) sized outfit. Espeeecially because 1. sizes vary from company to company, and 2. babies lose weight their first couple of days just from all of the work that’s involved on their part in breathing and eating on their own (vs just passively receiving everything via umbilical cord).

Had a few appointments, things are going well enough. GD-wise I am still controlling with diet and exercise, but a few numbers have been high, so they spoke about insulin resistance getting worse the farther along you are and that I might still need nighttime insulin. It’s very wait and see.

[name_f]My[/name_f] OB was very receptive to my concerns about another fast labor. He seemed to completely agree and cautioned that this one very well might be faster and an induction might be the best way to go. He made note in my chart to schedule an induction for 39 weeks, so things will be a bit more controlled, and I’ll come in and he’ll break my water–which is all what I was hoping for. So I’m feeling quite relieved that she might be here by the end of next month, in a hospital, not unattended in a parking lot. So I just have to make it that far!

I was measuring ahead again as well. The last u/s put her in the 69th percentile, today they said instead of 32 weeks (I’m still technically 31+5) I was measuring at 36… I overheard the resident and doctor talking, nothing was said to me about it, and I have another growth scan next week so I guess we’ll see. I’m barely gaining any weight, in fact I even lost some, due to the GD diet and exercise, so I have no idea what this means. Resident confirmed she’s dropped which I suspected as I can breathe now, but she doesn’t feel engaged yet. I’ve also noticed a change in discharge this last week (bits of plug) so I do feel like my body is getting ready, and fourth baby, I expect that’s typical. So we’ll see, I guess.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] you’re all doing well! Good luck to the [name_f]April[/name_f] mamas–almost there!

I apparently failed my 1 hr glucose screening, so I have to go do the 3 hr one now. Unfortunately, that means my husband has to take more time off work to sit with our daughter because my doctors office won’t let me bring her under any circumstances. So that’s fun. I was also supposed to get my first RhoGam shot this week and my office said my insurance denied it so they were sending me elsewhere to get it. Called insurance and come to find out my doctors office tried to order the shot through a specialized pharmacy my insurance doesn’t cover instead of one it does. Simple fix and something they should have caught and fixed, but they were all prepped to charge me for them. I like my provider, but the office doesn’t seem to have their crap together most of the time which is getting irritating. But anyway, hopefully that gets worked out now and fingers crossed I pass the 3hr test.

Hoping all is going well for [name_f]April[/name_f] mamas! So close!

@LynnG I hope you are the first of us in the [name_f]April[/name_f] group – you deserve it! Can’t wait for you to get to meet little [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]!

[name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear a good review of the backpack! I’m excited to get to use it (fingers crossed) soon!

Had my 36 week checkup yesterday and she confirmed that baby has dropped. Had my first cervix check (which was uncomfortable, but not as bad as I was worried it might be). She said my cervix is very soft but not dilated yet, which is normal for 36 weeks. Good to be normal but I would have been good with being ahead of schedule at this point lol.

Hubby’s family is convinced the baby will come early because he was 6 weeks early and babies tend to come early on their side. But the babies on my side have come late . . . so we’ll see!

The last couple days the temp got up to 80 and I have been so hot and miserable! I usually run cold, so this is unusual for me. I have had too many gas station slushies this week, but they are so good and COLD.

@LibelluleClaire That outfit is so adorable!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the bunny theme! So perfect for spring!

I have newborn and 0-3 outfits packed in my bag. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom had big babies so she has discouraged me from buying newborn size things, but I have a couple just in case! I’ve been measuring a little behind at recent appts (35 at my 36+3 appt) so maybe I should grab a preemie outfit at Walmart just in case!

@LiliMorgana [name_f]Glad[/name_f] your doctor was responsive! Hopefully you can continue to avoid the insulin!

@ChelsAnne22 Good luck with your 3hr test! Insurance can be such a pain about things!

Aaaand we had the baby. Couple of things were all trending in not so great a direction, so our surgeon said let’s just do it right now. She got out of bed in the middle of the night, came to the hospital, set up the surgery, and we had baby in our arms about 2 hrs later.

We’re waiting for baby to pep up a little so we can see which name is more fitting!
