@catriona Congrats! [name_u]Love[/name_u] your kids’ names.
@[name_u]Kay[/name_u] Thank you! I know, time is just flying by. K turned one a week and a bit ago — where did that year go?!
@catriona Congrats! [name_u]Love[/name_u] your kids’ names.
@[name_u]Kay[/name_u] Thank you! I know, time is just flying by. K turned one a week and a bit ago — where did that year go?!
@catriona m, congratulations. I especially love the names [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
@katinka, I’m nervous about the nausea that’s starting to kick in, too. Last time, I puked so hard I burst blood vessels in my eyes! :(. But somehow still really excited to be doing this again.
So I tested last [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] and got the faintest of lines, and again on Friday for the real BFP. I am not even exactly sure of my [name_m]EDD[/name_m], and basically just guessing at this point. Went off the pill mid-pack on [name_f]May[/name_f] 11th with no withdrawal bleed, so technically LMP was [name_f]April[/name_f] 25th, but tested periodically (and negative) until the end of last week.
I think if all goes well (and if I can handle the suspense—not sure) we might leave the baby’s sex a surprise this time, since it’s really REALLY (probably) the last one. But I’ve said that before.
@mill1020 Congratulations! #6, you must be mad!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, I have been away for a while so just catching up with this thread.
@lailanotlilah I’m so sorry to hear your news. I hope you are doing OK and taking care of yourself.
Congratulations to all the new arrivals, @catriona m, @mill1020 and @katinka! It’s great to have you along for the ride.
@kazooki and @dotdraper, so pleased to hear your scans went well! [name_m]How[/name_m] are you both feeling?
As for me, I’m really regretting my last post about wishing the sickness would start… I have been throwing up since Friday (6w2d) and feel rough and exhausted a lot of the time. Luckily throwing up seems to make the nausea go away for several hours, during which time I can eat (although nothing too tasty), so it’s not too bad. Although it is getting steadily worse so I don’t know how I’m going to feel in a week’s time! I’m 6w6d today and we have our 7 week scan tomorrow morning. I am feeling about 10% excited and 90% terrified. I just can’t wait to actually get confirmation that everything is progressing as it should. I feel like the last few weeks have been one long held breath and it will be such a relief to (hopefully) see our little one.
Hello everyone
I am expecting my second in mid-late [name_f]February[/name_f]! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] to join the group and hoping for some goood naming discussions (my fav part of pregnancy)!!
I think you’re right!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] ladies,
I’ll try to catch up later, but I’m cautiously joining you again, as I am pregnant again. I’m so happy to conceive immediately after my early loss last month. However, I’m anxiously awaiting my viability scan in 2,5 weeks. IF I see a heartbeat that would lessen a lot of my worries, and then I will try to be a more active participant in this tread
Congrats for the new pregnant moms (to be)!
Congratulations [name_f]Katinka[/name_f], [name_f]Catriona[/name_f], VC, and welcome back Phloxie!
Vacation was nice, but after sailing and biking (nice, safe, flat terrain) like a normal person, I suddenly developed wicked nausea this weekend. I went from planning to take part in a regatta in [name_u]August[/name_u] to not wanting to set foot on a boat. I really hope this passes. Has anyone else had symptoms increase in week 9/10? I thought the nausea might taper off soon, not increase. I shouldn’t complain too much, I’ve really only had nausea and heartburn (without vomiting) up until now.
[name_m]How[/name_m] are you guys feeling?
Congrats @vc and @phloxie! Good luck and best wishes to you both.
Well, nausea definitely kicking in over here. I’m assuming I’m somewhere around 6w at the moment then, if this pregnancy is following the same pattern as my last two.
@dotdraper YES! Week 9-11 is always peak sickness for me. Apparently it’s when the preg hormones peak. On the plus side, you should be out the other side soon, if you’re lucky!
Congratulations and welcome @phloxie! Totally understand the anxiety after an early loss and wanting to wait until things progress before committing to the thread. I felt the same. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] it all goes well!
Our scan this morning was great, measuring 1 day ahead so I’m officially 7w1d. We heard the lovely strong heartbeat at 143 bpm, it was amazing! The baby just looks like a blob but we could see the tiny cord and the yolk sac and just make out the shape of the head and tail.
I bought some sea bands yesterday and have really noticed a difference today, I was able to eat breakfast and a small lunch without feeling like I had to force it down. Might be worth looking into for those of you feeling horrible?
Thanks! I’m going to grab some seabands ASAP. It’s definitely worth a try!
Thank you for the well wishes
Congrats all around!!
I need to look into those seabands. I’m only in my 5th week and already feeling horrible. The last two days were especially bad.
I’ve had bad nausea with my first too, and I’ve heard that you can expect somewhat similar symptoms for your different pregnancies… I try to remind myself that solid nausea is a good sign.
Wow so happy to see how much steam this thread has picked up! I am a few days behind so forgive me if I miss someone!
@katinka, congrats on baby #3 and welcome to this thread! Sorry to hear about morning sickness showing her ugly face, it will be interesting to see if you are right about being 6 weeks and if this pregnancy is following a pattern for you.
@catriona welcome and congratulations! [name_u]Love[/name_u] your girls’ names, [name_f]Oona[/name_f] is on our short list for this baby if its a girl.
@mill1020, congratulations! how fun to potentially keep at a surprise. When will you tell your kids about the pregnancy, if you haven’t yet? I bet those older kids will have opinions on wanting a brother or sister!
@lirio, so happy to hear the scan went well.Great that the sea bands work for you! I have a hard time telling if they do anything for me. Mostly I felt better the first few days I wore them but then I had a day that was worse than before. Hard to tell if it would have been even worse without the bands or if they don’t do anything for meand I was just having a few good days.
@vc2013, congratulations! nausea is definitely a good sign (at least my midwife strongly emphasized that) but I hope its not as bad with your second as it was with your first
@phloxie, congratulations! so happy to see you back here, sending sticky vibes your way. This pregnancy was a conceived right after an early loss for me and it was so tough having to wait until 10 weeks to get an ultrasound for that reason. I’m happy for you that you will have a viability scan sooner.
@dotdraper, happy to hear you had a nice vacation although I’m sorry about the symptom increase. And yes, mine were definitely worse week 9/10 than they were before. Or more specifically, I had some particularly rough days those weeks. Its so strange not to be able to tell how we will feel in a few months. I also have a vacation in [name_u]August[/name_u] where I was planning on doing a fair amount of hiking and right now just an hour walk feels like a feat of endurance. Everyone keeps telling me I will get my energy back in a few weeks but 1. I’ll believe it when I see it. 2. I’m getting so out of shape!
As for me I am 11w3days and yesterday was an all time low. I had a migraine and nausea (I don’t typically get migraines so I do think it was pregnancy related) and just walking around my home was enough to make me throw up. Nausea kicked in for me around 5 weeks and after 6 weeks of feeling unwell its hard to believe I will ever feel better. Its never gotten to a point of throwing up daily, but I will have a few really bad days and then some days where I’m simply nauseous and exhausted. I dreamt about getting pregnant for years and wow it’s been so much tougher than I could have imagined. Still feeling happy and grateful though
We had our last ultrasound with the RE today (9w5d) and so much has changed in the last two weeks! Our baby looks baby-like and was wiggling the entire time, which was very cool. I’m hoping for a dancer.
I’m super excited to graduate to a regular OB. Our first appointment is scheduled for [name_u]July[/name_u] 9th, so fortunately we don’t have to wait too long. I’m definitely looking forward to stopping these damn progesterone shots ASAP!
@dotdraper, congrats on graduating to the next step! [name_u]July[/name_u] 9th is just around the corner.
@kazooki, thanks! I’m so sorry you’re feeling so sick. I remember feeling hopelessly ill for soooo long with my last pregnancy. You are going to turn the corner soon and get some energy back, I hope!
As far as #6, my husband is not letting me tell anyone (besides on NB, anyway) until he says he comes out of denial (happened fairly fast). And I don’t actually know when we’ll tell the kids. I haven’t been puking yet so it’s easy to hide. Our daughter is adamantly against having another brother (or even a sister, for that matter); I’ve been talking to her about why she feels that way and trying to reassure her. She’s afraid she’ll get lost in the shuffle, so I’m trying extra hard to carve out special time just for her. In any case, I think we’ll wait a long time before telling anyone. Definitely not until after the first U/S, provided that all is well. My doctor visit isn’t until about a month from now.
My 2nd baby is due Feb 8th! Currently just 8 weeks 2 days. Very excited and feeling good! Best of luck to everyone- so nice to be here, counting our blessings.
[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] and congratulations @ashby!
@mill1020-- as a first time mom I have nothing to offer in terms of tried-and-true advice for breaking the big news to kids, but (as a big sister myself) I think your plan of carving out special time to reassure your daughter sounds like an excellent plan!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
My name is [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], very excited to be joining this thread.
I have just had my 6 week dating scan this morning, I am currently 6w3d and due on Feb 24 2018.
I have been suffering with bad nausea for past 10 days… I put on the Sea bands yesterday for the first time and feeling so much better! I’m never taking them off. Haha.
Hey [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], I’m due on the same day! So nice to hear you had a good ultrasound, I have to wait another two weeks almost…
