Babies due January-March 2019

That’s awesome, due date twins!

I think the process is slightly different here in Australia. We get an ultrasound at 6 weeks, after which the doctor can refer and get us booked in at the birth centre at the hospital, with the next appointment a couple of weeks later.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, sorry to hear so many are feeling rough :frowning:

I’m definitely feeling it now, but I have to say it’s a lot better (so far!) than it was in my previous two pregnancies. Trying to just enjoy actually being a functioning human and not worry that it means something is wrong.

I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday and then I think they’re going to send me for an earlier-than-usual scan to determine dates, which is great! Usually I’d have to wait another 5+ weeks for a scan at this point.

Good luck to everyone else having first scans and appointments in the coming weeks!

Unfortunately I miscarried today. Third in a row, I don’t know what to do now :frowning:

I wish you all a healthy pregnancy and happy babies in [name_u]Jan[/name_u], Feb or [name_u]March[/name_u].

Oh, phloxie. I’m so sorry. Please take care.

@phloxie I’m so, so sorry. Sending strength and all the best for the future.

@phloxie, I am so sorry to hear this.

@phloxie, I am so sorry for your loss. Take good care of yourself. I hope you seek medical council for the repeat miscarriages and get some answers. But also take the time to grieve and be gentle with yourself.

@katinka, wonderful that it’s easier so far than your last two pregnancies. they say all pregnancies are different so I hope it stays that way for you.

@ashby and @jessiemxo, Congratulations and welcome!

I am 12weeks 2 days and I thought I was starting to feel better. At least my energy seems to have come back a little. The nausea also seemed to have gotten less intense although 30 mins spent outdoors in the sweltering heat (I was waiting for my bus home from work, and there was some kind of issue) was enough to trigger it back to full force and I threw up twice last night. I know the heat wave has been affecting a lot of the US so if you have been in it too, I hope you’ve been drinking a lot of water!

Also if you are in the US, [name_f]Happy[/name_f] 4th! we are keeping the day very low key here, trying to go to the (indoor) pool for some exercise and then making some food and chilling as a couple. We typically spend the day with family or friends but it’s kind of nice to have a midweek day of just being together.

But @kazooki, I was really banking on all of this gross nausea stopping abruptly at 11 weeks! (It started and increased exactly on the week marks… I’ve really been counting down!) I hope you feel better soon!

The oppressive heat is definitely not helping anything. We went to a beer garden with friends last night and it is much harder to enjoy the outdoors when it’s 90+ and humid. It’s impossible to eat anything. Drinking la croix in place of a cocktail might have affected my take on the night as well, though. On a positive not, I doubt I’ve ever been this well hydrated in my life.

[name_f]Happy[/name_f] 4th!

@phloxie, I am so sorry for your loss. [name_m]How[/name_m] far along were you with the other three? I’ve had three MCs as well. Have you spoken to your obgyn about it?

@phloxie, I’m so so sorry to hear your news. I can only imagine the pain you’re in after three losses. I hope with all my heart you can manage to find some answers and sort out whatever is going wrong as soon as possible. Thinking of you.

Welcome to @jexxiemxo and @ashby. I haven’t checked in for a while and it’s nice to see some new members!

@kazooki, sorry to hear your sickness is worse again. Hopefully it’s just the heat and will start fading again soon.

@dotdraper, so much la croix! I find it easier to stomach than water at the moment. Hope you’re right about the 11 week mark!

@katinka, hope your scan goes well today and you can see the lovely little blob.

8w2d over here and feeling pretty sorry for myself. The sickness is brutal. It’s got slightly better since I started taking B6 and Unisom the last couple of days - at least, I can now keep food down and don’t feel like I’m going to faint whenever I stand up. But the nausea never really goes away. The only thing getting me through is the knowledge that sickness is hopefully a good sign of a healthy baby and placenta!

Have you all started telling people yet? We’ve told our parents and a couple of other close friends and family members who knew we were trying. We have another scan next Tuesday at 9 weeks, trying to decide whether to tell more people after that or wait until our next one at 11 weeks. Or even later?? I can’t work out whether I actually want to keep it secret or whether it’s just so ingrained in me that that’s what people do.

Hope you’re all feeling OK and had good 4th of Julys for those in the US. I was too sick to go to any celebrations but we could see fireworks from the bedroom window so that was nice.

Thank you all kind ladies, your words are comforting in a way.

I had three in total, with first two I was 4 weeks and a couple of days along, this one 6 weeks and a few days. I have not spoken with my obgyn yet, need to make an appointment first, but wanted to get through the miscarriage first.
Sorry to hear you had 3 mc’s as well, how did you cope with it? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know what caused it? Good to see that you are pregnant again, and I hope you are doing well?

Small update from me: no scan (boo hiss!), probably won’t be scanned until around 12 weeks after all. The midwife has me down as around 10w at this point because of the date of my last period, but I think I’m closer to about 7w. We shall see…

@phloxie Sending hugs. Taking time to rest and grieve first sounds like a good plan. All my very best wishes to you.

I had two early ones 4-5wks and one at 11wks, which hit me hard then. I spent a week in bed basically, allowing myself to cry and rest and grieve. There was no explanation, heart beat and US and early tests were all normal.
I know now that it’s much more common than I thought. I’ve found unexpected community in women I knew who were coming out of the woodworks with their own stories when they heard what happened. That helped me immensely. There is a forum, I think it’s called miscarriage support, that I would recommend to check out too.

I started discussing with my OB, all tests were normal. I was considering maybe starting on progesterone, but then I conceived naturally. We wake up every day surprised and happy that it’s still there. I know now that things can happen for seemingly no reason, and that there’s no way to prevent it. I just try to be mindful and grateful and hope that this one sticks around.

I wish you the ability to grieve, and all the best for a healthy future pregnancy ”

@mil1020 my parents got each kid a special gift from the new baby when they came along. There were five of us, and I am the second oldest, so I got three gifts when my three younger siblings arrived. We love it and still joke about some of the gifts today. My brother, who was born in 1990, “got” me a neon green fanny pack that my parents presented to me on his day of being born. He got my sister a leather patchwork fanny pack. We really wish that we had kept them, that would’ve been awesome. Anyway, we appreciated it as kids and it has made for a great story later on…

[name_m]Just[/name_m] got a BFP on [name_u]July[/name_u] 5th. This will be our 4th and final baby. I have a boy and two girls and I’m about 99.9% sure it’s another boy. I’m excited but I feel overwhelmed. Our youngest baby turns a year old [name_u]July[/name_u] 10th so she will only be about a year and 8 months older than this one. I have had a hard time trying to conceive in the past, we tried for 2 years with our last, so when my husband slipped up one time, I told him it would be fine, haha, 3 weeks later I was looking at a positive pregnancy test. I should be due around the second week of [name_u]March[/name_u], my first ultrasound is in 2 weeks. Congrats to all you ladies and your BFP’s!

So sorry Phloxie, sending prayers and good vibes your way. <3

@ashby, that is a really neat idea. I think we will try to do that!

@momma_b, Congrats! I had my first three kids really close together and it’s hard but manageable. Try not to worry too much!

@momma_b Congratulations!

Our first visit to the regular OB went well (11w2d)… no ultrasound, but we heard the heartbeat with the doppler. The visit felt maybe just a little bit rushed since I’ve been over a lot of the introductory stuff/dos and don’ts with my RE. I hand delivered my records from the RE so now I’m going back in two weeks for whatever bloodwork remains, but I don’t think we’ll have another ultrasound for a little while.

We also did the NIPT today… the wait is going to stink, but I’m staying positive and looking forward to finding out the sex so the naming discussions can begin in earnest. We used MaterniT21 Plus. Has anyone else use this test? [name_m]How[/name_m] was the turn around? Are the results pretty clear?

@ashby, I love this idea and want to do something like that too. Our friends had their baby “give” their son an airplane play set…

@momma_b congratulations!!

@dotdraper that’s so exciting! And lol at the name search beginning in ernest soon… I’m almost counting down the weeks over here!

(Does this @ thing actually notify people?)

I’ve been feeling awful with all day and night “morning” sickness, at the same time relieved that it means all is going well. Some days, I find something that helps and other days I just spend entirely in bed :-/

When it gets really bad, I just look up names… that way I can still feel “productive” (haha).

I sadly have my first OB appt only at the end of [name_u]July[/name_u]… gotta make it through the next weeks of uncertainty by myself? Or maybe I will contact my old OB, need to get the records transferred anyway.

Anyone else feeling really incapacitated at times??
