Babies Due October-December 2016

[name_m]Just[/name_m] had my 18 week belly check and everything looks good. I’ve been worrying about my weight gain so far but they feel like I’m doing just fine. I’m a bit ticked off because we had to get blood work done around 10 weeks and they just told me today that they never got the results when I know I went. So I get to give blood once again. DH surprised me and showed up at the appointment which was really nice. We now have our 20 week ultrasound scheduled for the 19th and I just can’t wait for it!

As for names, I think we’re set on [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] with the middles after my brother and my mom respectively. I was really iffy on [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for a long while but the other day it just hit me that I don’t love any other girl name as much and I think my struggle was that I was convinced baby is a boy. I still think it’s a boy, but I’m coming around to the idea that this could very well be a girl and as a planner I wanted a name picked before we find out the gender. [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] has been a long time favorite that DH also happens to love which is weird because he’s vetoed practically every name I mention :stuck_out_tongue:

@lilea I think my cold ran it’s course but it seemed to linger for such a long time. Thankfully, I don’t have a job so I got to lounge around at home until I started feeling better. By the way I love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] so much more than [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]!

@keegan [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear that the bleeding has stopped! I have been starting to love the name [name_u]Logan[/name_u] lately although I must admit I have been watching the X-men movies again so maybe that’s why :smiley:

@moondreams Nice to see a fellow [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] lover! I really like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] so it would be nice if your hubby could come around to it.

@keegan glad to hear the bleeding has stopped!

I’m now 10w1d and have had 4 scans, the last being at 8w6d. Recently I’ve also started being able to find the baby’s heartbeat with my doppler. I’m beginning to feel a bit more hopeful that this is it. I just want to fast forward to the end of the first tri. I’m still feeling pretty crappy but hoping to start feeling better soon.

Names are most likely to be [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] “Ted” for a boy, and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] for a girl. My husband doesn’t like many of my name choices but can get on board with those.

As for a nursery, I don’t even know where we’ll be living when I’m supposed to be due! Would be great if we could be in our new home, but it probably won’t be finished until early next year. Everyone’s ideas sound very cute!

@Lilhan, [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is beautiful and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] was in our top 3 for a boy along with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_u]Kristian[/name_u]. I love the nn’s of [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u].

Can I ask your opinions on [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] versus [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]? My late grandmother was named [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] (that spelling) but everyone called her [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I like both options. Our surname sounds like [name_m]Bassett[/name_m]. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is after DH’s grandmother.

@lilea Thanks!
Both your choices are lovely! But I prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]- I’ve just always loved that [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] spelling, it’s so beautiful. And, where I live anyway, there are quite a lot of Isabellas. You couldn’t go wrong with either though!

Hello all.
I hope everyone is doing well! : )
My DH caved yesterday and we had a private scan today. £70 later and we have ourselves a boy. We are super chuffed but are struggling with names!

@lilea I love the spelling of [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] but really either is a great name. Not sure if you’ve thought of this, but I love the name [name_f]Mariella[/name_f] which combines both your grandmother’s names.

@ispy Congrats on your boy! Your 20 week scan must be coming up soon so you get to see him again and maybe try out a few names on him then.

As for me, I’m still struggling a bit with my back and now I also have pain in one hip. Not sure if it’s just from ligaments stretching or maybe sciatic nerve, but either way it’s not pleasant. I hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s [name_u]Day[/name_u]! I was surprised to get a few calls, most shocking was from my dad and I was so happy to get some recognition. DH also surprised me with dinner reservations at a fancy fondue restaurant and we had a great time. I think it’s starting to really set in that next week we will know our gender and have a new house! I’m so excited that I don’t really know what to do in the meantime with all this energy.

@cyoung I actually really loved [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] for the same reason, a smooth of the two names and loved the meaning ‘shining sea’ which has poignance as my grandma’s ashes were scattered at sea. But DH didn’t like it! Or [name_f]Mariella[/name_f]! Doh!

I finally have my OB appointment today! Can’t wait to see my Nugget!

Admittedly, I am very nervous. I feel very different than I did with my daughter and I’m scared they won’t find anything at the scan today. It irrational I know as I’m still puking up a storm and generally have other 1st trimester symptoms but I’m scared.

@dindlee thinking of you, hope it goes really well!

I’m 18 weeks +3 and starting to feel some pretty clear movements now! Also I’m really chuffed because I have found out 2 other women at my church are pregnant with their first child and we ate all due within 10 days of each other. Hopefully we can form a bit of a group :slight_smile:

Saw my Nugget and it’s little heartbeat! Everything is perfect. Nugget is measuring a week ahead so my due date is now [name_u]December[/name_u] 2. It was doing cartwheels in there! Gave the tech a hard time when it came time to measure.

@lilea Isn’t it awesome to feel the baby?! I love it that I can feel him/her because it eases my mind that everything is okay in there.

@dindlee [name_f]Glad[/name_f] your scan went well and baby is doing well! I wish my due date would move up a week so I could see baby sooner. [name_u]Lucky[/name_u] you!

3 more days til we see baby again and hopefully find out the gender! We are so psyched for it it’s hard to think of anything else. I’m finally starting to pack up the apartment for our move and boy do we have a lot of stuff! Hoping I can keep up this energy all week :slight_smile: [name_f]Hope[/name_f] all you lovely ladies are doing well :smiley:

@dindlee – that’s awesome! My due date right now is Dec. 5th!
I understand being nervous about the ultrasound. My last pregnancy when I went for my first ultrasound at 11 weeks, I unfortunately found out it had stopped growing a few weeks before. I have my 2nd ultrasound next week (12 weeks) and I am very nervous this will happen again, but trying to keep positive. I had one at 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat so that helps.

@cyoung325 – hope you are able to find out the gender as well! I can’t wait to get to that point, but that won’t be until [name_u]July[/name_u].

@lilea I adore that wall paper its beautiful! I don’t think we are going to wall paper a full wall simply because it causes headaches when we even think about it, last time we spent more time arguing over what was wonky or not than actual papering! I am thinking about maybe making a pallet board for the wall though and papering that, just so it breaks up the room a little more. Oh and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is gorgeous!
@ispypottery Congrats on your boy!
@dindlee glad all was well with your little one, we’ve got a wriggler too!
@belle_rain [name_f]Hope[/name_f] everything is going well with you, they say that one a heartbeat has been seen the risk drops dramatically so that is already a great sign!
@lilhan I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]!
@cyoung325 am I right in thinking your anatomy scan is today? hope all goes well!

So we had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and baby was being a total little monkey throughout. I ended up with two scans, being sent for a walk, drink, food and to pee and baby was still either facing the floor or doing head stands. So far all looks good but the tech was unable to get enough images of the heart but assured me that of what she had seen all looked good. So we go back in two weeks. I’m also booked for a 28w growth scan to see how baby is doing because of my bicornate uterus, however baby does seem to know that they can lay full length across both sides underneath the septum so thats reassuring news for now :slight_smile:
Touch and go as to whether we would get to find out the sex, baby was not having none of it! We got a couple of glimpses and the one clear shot, at first we both thought girl but the clear shot showed a very obvious BOY!!! So excited!! Although with how stubborn baby has been so far I’m going to have my hands full with stubborn baby and their equally stubborn dad :stuck_out_tongue:
We had dinner with our parents, siblings and my grandma last night and I made them little gender reveal scratch cards. My mum also got us the most gorgeous cake shaped like a toy box with little teddy and blocks and a bunny inside, I’ve yet to bring myslef to actually cut it - its a work of art!

We had our 20 week scan today and it was amazing. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is looking perfect although the doctor still has to go over the pictures and I’ll hear back next week if I need to go in for another. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] kept putting her hands up near her face and looking towards my back so we didn’t get any good profile pics like I had hoped for. She was however kicking and moving around a good amount which was great because we got to find out that it’s a GIRL! We even got to bring home a short DVD of the scan and I keep putting it on replay. DH is bugging me though since he’s been calling the baby [name_f]Alice[/name_f] since we found out we were pregnant and today I called her [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and he looked at me and said her name is [name_f]Anna[/name_f]! I don’t dislike [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but I just got used to thinking if it was girl she’d be [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. Out of frustration I told him to be fair I’ll look through all the names I like and see what we can agree on. I’m a little sad though because I had wanted to share the name when we told people the gender. Oh well, we have time to decide at least!

We also had the final walk through for our house today and everything looks good. They even left some curtains and nicer curtain rods which is great for now because we literally have 3 windows in our apartment and I wanted some privacy in our new home. Tomorrow we close on it and then this weekend we get to go through the joy of moving!

@keagan Congrats on your boy and I’m glad everything seems good so far. Wishing you luck on your next scan as well!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!

I hope everybody is doing well.

I’ve had a busy couple of weeks. My nausea is slowly improving, so that is good-- at week 19 now, I’m finally beginning to feel a little more human and gaining some weight. I got a little bit worried about baby earlier this week, as she suddenly was very still compared to how wiggly she had been, but I borrowed a little hand-held fetal heart monitor from a friend, and her heart beat is still strong and fast, so hopefully she has just been a little lazy.

My husband and I have yet to settle on a name, and he still thinks most of my name ideas are old lady names. He told me that he likes [name_f]Cora[/name_f], but I am unsure about that one since it sounds a bit similar to my name and doesn’t have a lot of nickname flexibility. We have both admitted to liking the name [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]-- it is a family name on his side (his mother’s grandma), and has a lot of nice nickname possibilities. I’m beginning to think that [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], nn. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] might be a very nice name. I even bought up a little onesie with roses on it when I saw it in a secondhand shop the other day-- I couldn’t help it. :slight_smile: We’re still not 100% sure, but we might be making some progress finally.

Seems like the girls are still outnumbering the boys on this thread. :slight_smile: Wonder if it will stay that way with the next batch of ultrasounds?

@[name_u]Keagan[/name_u] congratulations on your boy and @cyoung congratulations on your girl!

I originally hadn’t planned to find out, and wouldn’t have with my first two pregnancies but this time I can’t wait!

@evergreengal that’s great your nausea is going, but yikes that’s a long time to be ill. I’m really hoping mine goes soon.
I think [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is a beautiful name!

I had my 12 week scan last week, and all looked good. I couldn’t believe it, I’m so used to bad news. We told our families and close friends which is making it feel more real. It was wonderful for me and my husband to see the baby looking like a real baby and we got some great photos.
I’ve been using my doppler regularly to listen to the heartbeat, but I want to try to cut back on how much I use it now. I think I need to try to relax more and enjoy the pregnancy.
In saying that, pregnancy is kinda hard to enjoy when you feel so sick. I’m still feeling horrible and having all the symptoms. I am relieved because I feel like it’s a good sign, but it’s kinda impossible to get things done. I haven’t cooked in 7 weeks, and can’t see it happening anytime soon. My husband has been good at looking after me though.

@lilhan I’m so sorry that you’re having the nausea issues too! I couldn’t cook either-- my husband was handling everything food related for weeks because those smells in the air were just too much for me, and even the texture of certain ingredients would set me off. Congratulations on the ultrasound results! It is so nice to have that visual confirmation that all is as it should be. :slight_smile:

@evergreengal I think [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a wonderful name! I’m sorry you’ve been having so much trouble with nausea lately but hopefully you’re moving past all that now.

@lilhan So happy to hear that your scan went well! I feel like I lucked out because I only had a few week long bouts of nausea, no actual vomiting, but it did last a little bit into the second trimester so hopefully you’re nearing it’s end. I had the same trouble with cooking as well because even the thought of raw meat upset my stomach. It’s great that your hubby is taking good care of you though!

We moved into our new house on [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] and we’re finally getting settled in. We love the area and how much space we have here, but there are a bunch of little fixes we need to do around the house. I spent most of Friday running around the apartment and packing and baby girl rewarded me for my hard work by kicking so hard DH and I could feel her from outside my stomach! He really loved that since he’s never felt her before. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] everybody else is doing well!

EDIT: So I had some spare time and made a list of EDD and genders on the first page. Let me know if I goofed and need to update it at all.

I had my ultrasound today. She said I am measuring 12w3d, which might move my due date to Dec 3. Everything is good! Heart beat and she said growing healthy! :slight_smile:
