Thanks everyone. I have had no more spotting. It was seriously like three specks, less than the size of a nickel. I feel ok, no major cramping or anything. Hoping it was just a little bump in the road.
So we wanted to wait until my first ultrasound to tell family. However my job brings me into contact with sick people with different contagious diseases, so because of this I have to tell work about being pregnant this week so I have a valid reason why I won’t go near patients with certain diagnoses. My sister works in the same hospital as me, so once people I work with know about my pregnancy I’m sure my sister would have found out and thus my whole family. I didn’t want my family to find out from some random person I work with, so we ended up telling my family last night. Our daughter wore a “big sister” shirt. It took less than ten seconds for people to notice. It was really fun. I’m still so nervous about people knowing this early, but I’m trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time until my appointment on [name_u]March[/name_u] 13.
Congrats to everyone here now! Again praying for perfect health for all of our babies.
@asche926 - I’m so glad… I bled somewhat a lot in the beginning of my last pregnancy (thought I was getting my normal periods and then terrified after I knew I was pregnant) - turned out actually nothing was wrong but any blood is nerve-racking, I can’t even imagine how much more after miscarriage. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the big sis shirt! [name_m]How[/name_m] cute!
@tfzolghadr - I never feel full either… I can’t say I’ve been experiencing a lot of cramps right now because of it, but the bad 24-hour-a-day nausea I had last time really kicked in this past week for me. It gets worse whenever it’s been more than an hour or two after I’ve eaten, so I’m always having to be eating Hoping your stomach and mine can feel much better in the coming weeks… or sooner!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Ladies I am 5 weeks along, due 22nd of [name_f]October[/name_f]. It has been a rollercoaster this past few months as I miscarried at 9 weeks. I have 2 boys via IVF, so have been surprised we can conceive. Thinking of you all and so glad I can let someone other than my husband know. (The news hit him for six”)
I’m excited to join this board, we just found out we’re pregnant! Due early [name_u]November[/name_u], my hubby and I are thrilled, and can’t wait to tell our other kids. We are waiting till after the first ultrasound
@pi6zi- we have the same due date! Very exciting! @craig_diana- welcome!
Thank you for all the support ladies. I had another small bout of light pink spotting, but none for a few days. I talked to the doctor and he is not worried about it. The nature of the spotting is not presumed detrimental apparently.
I am starting to feel pregnant; holy cow am I tired. I remember the fatigue when I was pregnant with my daughter, but it was manageable then. Now I have a toddler and am in my final semester of graduate school, so I’m noticeably busier. Trying to sneak naps in whenever I can :-/
[name_m]How[/name_m]'s everyone feeling? I am about 6, possibly 7 weeks now. I haven’t been nauseous, but haven’t really had an appetite either. Pretty much feeling full and bloated all of the time! Luckily I have mild heartburn that keeps flaring up if my stomach gets too empty, so I am eating small amounts of rather bland things regularly, and slowly. Vegetables and fruit have been mostly turning me off, but I have done well with protein and whole grains. Other than that I am already feeling regular mild to moderate pelvic and hip pain, which I imagine is a combination of uterine stretching and the hormones relaxing the joints. I can only imagine the fun that is coming over the next 33+ weeks, as this is my first! My husband and I are looking forward to our first ultrasound next week!
I’m 7 weeks now and feeling pretty normal, just exhausted, but that’s life with a toddler any other day! Thankfully I haven’t had any sickness but I’m noticing certain foods I would normally love just totally repulse me, notably peanut butter and avocado. I’m struggling with keeping this a secret, thank goodness for this forum.
@pi6zi Oh, I know the pain of a UTI. Luckily I haven’t had one yet in pregnancy, but I have had several in the past. I can’t imagine how miserable that is on top of other pregnancy symptoms. I hope it resolves quickly!
Anyone having the vivid pregnancy dreams yet? The past couple of nights have been wild for me. I don’t remember what I have been dreaming about, but it has been so real I wake up unsure if I was dreaming or something actually happened!
I am 5w5d and have finally started having some symptoms. I am tired, nauseous, no appetite, sore boobs and holy moly am I irritable! I didn’t have any noticeable mood swings or symptoms with my other pregnancies, but the last few days I have been a bear. I had to finally tell my husband to watch out, because I am going after him for every little thing. Hopefully that goes away, for both of our sakes!
My appt is two weeks from [name_f]Monday[/name_f] when I will be 8w1d. Can’t wait!
@jems16-- no dreams for me yet. I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter I had some very very VERY realistic dreams. They say you have a lot of sex dreams when you’re pregnant. I didn’t have those but most of my dreams, especially towards the end, were about men. One I can still remember is that I was skiing (I have never skied in my life) with 5 men that I work with. It was normal stuff but so vivid it’s freaky when you wake up!
Congrats again everyone who has joined now So exciting to see the group growing.
@tfzolghadr - Haha your post made me laugh a few times! If it’s a girl she can have beautiful thick locks and long eyelashes Thanks for the suggestions. [name_m]How[/name_m] are you feeling now? Any improvements, I hope?
@pi6zi - Oh no, that’s the worst, I hope your UTI resolves quickly!
@jems16@asche926 - No weird dreams for me yet either. Now I’m thinking about it though so I’m on the lookout….
I’m approximately 8w2d and have my first prenatal this [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f]. I’ve mostly been struggling with bad nausea for the past few weeks - I remember this was my least favorite part last time, so I’m hoping it passes soon and everything is better on the other side! We’re visiting family this weekend and not announcing…… but I already look very bloated and “pregnant shaped” this early just like last time LOL so I’m bracing myself for comments
@jadnf-- it’s funny that you say you are “pregnancy shaped” already. I am so nervous about that. With my daughter (first pregnancy) I started showing super early, like ten weeks. I am nervous that by 7-8 weeks I’ll have a belly already. I’d like to hide it a little longer than that!
Oh my gosh, the “pregnancy shape”! I am only 4’10". My uterus I swear is already firming up and on its way to creating the belly… at about 7 weeks. It has no where to go but out! I have a wedding of my best friend that I will be in at the beginning of the third trimester… I can’t imagine what the pictures will be like. [name_m]Worth[/name_m] it… I have wanted to be “mom” since a little girl!
@jadnf It’s kind of funny that you have your first appointment on [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], that is when mine is as well! I will be thinking about you finding out about your little bundle at the same time as me, hoping everything is perfect! I am 35 and could not exactly pinpoint my LMP, as my cycle was not my usual in [name_u]January[/name_u]. I am actually glad for this, because it means I will have an early ultrasound!
I had my first prenatal/ultrasound this past week and saw the heartbeat… makes it feel so much more real I was nervous about the appointment because we just moved to a new area so I hadn’t been to that office before, but the midwife turned out to be so friendly and awesome. She was even completely supportive when I told her I can’t exclusively breastfeed this time around if at all, which was shocking to me and such a relief.
“Pregnancy shape” … Lol I am short too! That’s what I blame it on. I am 9 weeks or so now and switched today to maternity pants. It wasn’t quite necessary yet but my regular clothes have gotten uncomfortably tight and awkward looking - I would rather look cute and pregnant in maternity clothes than awkwardly bulging in my regulars
@jems16 - [name_m]How[/name_m] was your appointment? I thought of you when I was at mine
@pi6zi - Yep tell me about it! Can’t wait for this to pass!
Checking in! Feeling pretty good so far except exhaustion and having to force myself to eat a little bit every few hours to keep heartburn and nausea at bay. I will count myself as very lucky for now!
@jadnf I am so glad to hear your first appointment went so well! It is so important to be comfortable with your healthcare provider. My ultrasound went well. I am a little earlier than originally thought, just going on to seven weeks this week, but we were still able to see that little heart flicker. 124 beats per minute! I actually go back in two weeks to check progress. As an older mom with a couple medical issues that are only really concerning during pregnancy, I don’t mind the closer monitoring. Not to mention the extra baby pics! I will have a consult with maternal-fetal medicine as well. I am trying so hard to do everything right… even though everything looks good so far I think I will be at least partially holding my breath until [name_f]October[/name_f]!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, checking in!
I am 7w1d today. I don’t think I have that “pregnancy shape” yet but my face is getting chubby :-/ I blame it on the intense nausea/lack of appetite. My healthy eating has gone out the window. I eat a lot of pasta, crackers, cheese these days.
My first appointment is a week from today! I’ve seen one doctor since joining this practice 3 years ago. She was the one I went through my daughters pregnancy and delivery with and my first miscarriage. Then for some reason she stopped doing OB work and is only doing GYN patients. So for this pregnancy I will be going to her partner. I met him in the hospital after having my daughter and he was the one I saw for my second miscarriage. My husband likes him but he has to grow on me still I think. I’m bummed I won’t have “my” doctor though
Hopefully the ultrasound goes well and we can see a heartbeat. I will feel more comfortable telling extended family and friends once we have that confirmation.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone is feeling well and staying warm! Up in the NorthEast U.S. we are toying around with the idea of spring!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Checking in, not been on this site in forever.
I had my youngest son at the end of 2015, and I’m expecting again due [name_f]October[/name_f] 21st - I’m 8 weeks 4 days. Going well so far minus the killer sickness. I have it every time though. It sucks but it’s also kinda comforting as with my miscarriages the lack of sickness was the first thing I noticed was wrong.
Anyway, hope everyone is feeling well! Here in the UK we finally have some kind of sun but it’s still pretty chilly. [name_m]Just[/name_m] glad we don’t have the snow. It seems we have managed to avoid it this year.
Hello all! [name_m]How[/name_m]'s everyone doing with the nausea? Bloating? Heartburn? Fatigue? I hate to rush things…but is the first trimester over yet?
I have had spotting off and on for more than a week, and thus pelvic rest. I won’t lie and say that is easy for a newlywed! However, according to a second ultrasound baby is measuring right at 8 weeks, due [name_f]October[/name_f] 23rd. He or she also has a strong heartbeat at 171. The next two weeks to a month will probably drive me crazy, waiting for test results and a consult to maternal fetal medicine for a Protein S deficiency. Here’s hoping the rest of the trimester goes well for all!
@asche926 [name_m]How[/name_m] did your appointment go? I am actually from the Northeast too ([name_f]Maine[/name_f]). [name_u]Winter[/name_u] doesn’t want to let us go yet!
