On [name_u]December[/name_u] 2 of this year, my husband and I welcomed our son, [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] [name_m]Keir[/name_m] Schneider, into the world. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is Irish so we wanted to choose an Irish name for our baby. This is how we chose the names [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] and [name_m]Keir[/name_m]. I loved the name [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] because I could use the nickname [name_u]Kai[/name_u], which means the sea. I’m from Australia so this was really nice! Since my son was getting my husband’s last name, I wanted to incorporate some part of my family in my son’s name. Therefore, my family name “Schneider” was used as my son’s middle name to pay homage to my Jewish roots!
