[name]Love[/name] the flow of [name]Michael[/name] [name]Desmond[/name], and I love that [name]Desmond[/name] is fairly unusual, historically-rooted, and ties to [name]Michael[/name] with a middle M sound. Was my fave by far
I love [name]Michael[/name] [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Michael[/name] [name]Quentin[/name] and [name]Michael[/name] [name]Desmond[/name]. I want to love [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] too but there is a nursery rhyme/childrens’ song about an old man called [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name], and that was my first thought when I saw it. I don’t know whether this would be a problem in the US (might be more of a British thing), but I just thought it would be good for you to be aware of it.
Other unusual middle names I like with [name]Michael[/name]:
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Rafferty[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Leopold[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Peregrine[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Dexter[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Tobias[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Willoughby[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Edmund[/name]/[name]Edmond[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Alasdair[/name]/[name]Alastair[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Augustin[/name]/en
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Justus[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Julius[/name]
I voted [name]Michael[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] without looking at the comments. It gives the classic [name]Michael[/name] a little kick with the addition of the X, but is still very strong and timeless. Sorry, my first thought w/ [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] was the song, and… now it’s stuck in my head!
I voted for [name]Michael[/name] [name]Quentin[/name]. If you wanted to celebrate the 5th [name]Michael[/name], you could go for [name]Michael[/name] [name]Quintus[/name] (meaning the 5th!).
Thanks for all your responses so far! I really thought we were going to go with [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] for awhile, but lately I can’t stop thinking about that silly song, and the fact that so many of you immediately thought of it makes me very leary of using it. I think [name]Quentin[/name] is our top choice for now, in large part because of its meaning of “fifth”, as you said davisellu. The more I say it aloud and run it by my husband, the more I am really loving it. Please keep the votes and suggestions coming though!
[name]Quentin[/name] is refreshing and seems to flow seamlessly with [name]Michael[/name] and it is a classy name. And in regard to [name]Finnegan[/name] the song would spoil it for me too.
I thought of the [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] song as well. Of your options I prefer [name]Ezra[/name] or [name]Xavier[/name]. Good luck!
