I am still stuck on [name]Beau[/name] for a girl! Somewhere suggsted that I add an “x” to make it more feminine, and I really it. What are thoughts on Beaux-[name]Marie[/name] [name]Louise[/name]?
Now with the x added I really like it as a hyphenated name. [name]Love[/name] Beaux-[name]Marie[/name]! I think [name]Louise[/name] as the middle name is a bit to rhyming (and I’m a fan of rhyming but [name]Marie[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is a bit much). I suggest considering a different middle name.
I totally, totally hate boys names on girls usually- but I’m kind of hating myself for liking this just a tiny bit. It is slightly adorable. I do agree that Beaux-[name]Marie[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is too much rhyming- and I’m also a fan of rhythmic names. I would suggest more middles, but I’m horrible at that. Hopefully, this’ll bump this thread and someone else will help you 
I thought adding an X just makes it plural. I don’t speak French, so please correct me if I’m wrong. Would the X not change the pronunciation?
Is Beaux a word in the french language? I didn’t think of that, it might be worth looking into
[name]Beau[/name] means handsome in French, I think adding the X makes it plural. I’m not fond of [name]Beau[/name] for a girl as it is the male version of [name]Belle[/name].
Are you saying [name]Marie[/name] the french way or the English way? I think it rhymes less the French way, but you’ll be forever correcting people.

The X doesn’t make it feminine, it makes it plural. Beaux is ‘attractive’ in French, it’s still masculine and now it’s also plural.
Definitely one of those times I hear, “Oh god please no” in my head. I think [name]Marie[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is gorgeous. Beaux doesn’t make any sense and, to be honest, I think it shows ignorance and a lack of respect for the French language. I’m not saying you’re ignorant or that you don’t respect French, but it just comes across that way when people (and there are a lot of them) pick French words as names and don’t do their research.
While I will admit to having warmed to [name]Bo[/name] (after becoming a great ‘Lost Girl’ fan), I cannot say I like Beaux. The ‘x’ does nothing to make the name sound more feminine, but infact, even more trendy than it already is. The hyphenation of the name adds to that trendiness further.
I think I’ve said it in a post of yours before - [name]Isabeau[/name] [name]Louise[/name] with the nickname of [name]Beau[/name] would be a great name.
Beaux is masculine plural in French, for example “beaux arts” means “fine arts”. So it doesn’t make it feminine and it doesn’t make much sense, from a google search I didn’t find much about it ever being used as a name but apparently [name]Beau[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is a porn star…

I don’t speak French, but I know that the meaning is ‘handsome’ or in [name]America[/name] it can mean ‘boyfriend’ in an old-fashioned way, but I don’t find this any less usable than [name]Hunter[/name] or [name]Taylor[/name]. I also don’t find it to be ‘trendy’ because I have never met, and I assume I never will meet a little Beaux-[name]Marie[/name].
I think it’s a very sweet name and you should go for it.

If it were me I would use Boleyn [name]Marie[/name] [name]Louise[/name] nn [name]Bo[/name] [name]Marie[/name], even though I don’t like the [name]Bo[/name] spelling I think Boleyn is kind of neat.

I can’t fathom using a name which means ‘handsome’ and is the masculine form, when there is the girly name [name]Belle[/name]. [name]Belle[/name] [name]Marie[/name] would be lovely - OK [name]Belle[/name] is pretty popular right now but it makes sense, [name]Beau[/name] doesn’t.
I know of 2 little girl’s with the hyphenated middle name [name]Beau[/name] and I just want to shout at the parents lol!

No, adding an ‘x’ would make it even more masculine in French. That’s used on many masculine words to make them plural. (ie Cheval [horse] becomes Chevaux) So I would strongly recommend if you’re stuck on using [name]Beau[/name] for a girl to not make it any more masculine by putting an ‘x’ on the end.
I think you should spell it [name]Bo[/name], like [name]Little[/name] [name]Bo[/name] Peep.
[name]Beau[/name] & Beaux are pronounced the same in French… when I saw the title of this thread it made me giggle. Beaux-[name]Marie[/name] just looks funny to me. Plus, in [name]Quebec[/name] a couple decades ago, [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Joseph[/name] were often used for boys or girls for very Catholic families to honor [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Jesus[/name]’ parents. There’s a man named [name]Jean[/name]-[name]Marie[/name] (French form of [name]John[/name], you do not pronounce the ‘n’) that lives down the street from me. So to me, Beaux-[name]Marie[/name] is a 50 something man with a bit of a pot-belly and an SUV or pickup truck. And [name]Louise[/name] is a 50 something gardner who also lives down the street from me. I would never be able to give any of those names to a sweet little baby. BUT, obviously you don’t live in [name]Quebec[/name], so it’s different for you.
