@hannahash[name_f][/name_f] Yay! That’s the best news! I’m so glad he’s doing well!
Yay!!! I’m so happy for you! That must be so reassuring, and now you get to pick out boy names! [name_f]Any[/name_f] ideas so far? [name_f][/name_f] Ours is in 2 weeks, but we’re staying team green so Ill have to make a boys and a girls list lol
Haha I’m faaar too impatient and nosy to not figure out what I’m having! Props to you for staying team green though! We usually pick 2 middle names and we’re still working on the second middle name but we have the first two names set. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] to be joining you here. I’m 13 weeks and due in [name_f]June[/name_f] with a girl. Maybe a summer solstice baby!? We have a 6 year old daughter so will be quite the age gap but it’s feeling perfect for us. I’m older so I was quite nervous about the NIPT but very relieved now that everything was negative/normal. Feels like I can finally let myself be excited. I pulled out my box of maternity clothes today. Showing much earlier than with my first pregnancy, which is kind of fun
[name_f][/name_f] I’m thankful to no longer have debilitating nausea but I’m still feeling icky here and there and so so tired some days. I’m hoping that shifts soon (I felt totally normal starting at 11 weeks last time, but that was 7 years ago so we shall see!). [name_f]My[/name_f] ultrasound showed 2 small-ish hematomas, which was surprising but not too concerning. I haven’t had any spotting whatsoever and my midwife said most just clear up on their own by 20 weeks or so. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to have this knowledge so I won’t be too panicked if I do start bleeding. I swear I’m already feeling baby move…or maybe it’s just wishful thinking
[name_f][/name_f] Wishing everyone a smooth and healthy pregnancy!
I’ll be 25 weeks tomorrow! These last 4 weeks have been the best I’ve felt since being pregnant. Emotionally, mentally, physically.
Baby boy is is healthy and kicking me like crazy. He likes to turn around and kick me in my bladder
He also likes to stick his little frog legs over his head and chill like that ![]()
I can’t remember if I mentioned this in earlier posts, but he does have a single umbilical artery, usually the umbilical cord has two arteries in it and I thiiiink two vessels?? Maybe it’s only one vessel. But my little buddy has just one vessel and one artery. This can be a concern of congenital conditions IF there’s any other indicators noted in the ultrasounds, but I’ve done the NIPT and that came back clear and there were no other ultrasound abnormalities. So I think we’re in the clear. But the one issue now is that we have to monitor his growth. We do have a 32 week ultrasound set for growth measurement, but so far he is measuring great.
I’m seriously so happy and excited. So excited to meet him! And my sweet daughter (who is currently mad at me because I won’t let her whack me with a stuffed animal) is going to be such a good big sister.
27 weeks today! I’ve been itching, but it’s not as unbearable as it is when I have cholestasis. I think it’s just placebo….. I hope…. Especially as I’m approaching when I started having symptoms with my daughter at 28 weeks. Luckily I have my glucose test a bit past 28 weeks so hopefully we can add liver enzymes and bile acids to the blood draw and see how they’re doing. Overall with how severe my cholestasis was with my daughter, I’m astounded and happy that I haven’t had it so far this pregnancy. With each subsequent pregnancy it’s supposed to happen earlier and earlier, so making it to 27 weeks with no sign of it, is a miracle.
[name_f][/name_f]I know I talk about cholestasis a lot, haha it must be annoying but really, everything hinges on if or when the cholestasis happens. If it doesn’t happen then birth can happen whenever lil man decides, if it does we have to keep track of the numbers. Over 100 bile acids, like with my daughter, baby MUST be out before or on 36 weeks. Stillbirth is a real possibility with any bile acids above 10. Below 100 is usually 37 weeks. It’s scary stuff but fortunately as long as you get baby out in time, it’s just mostly miserable for the mother, it doesn’t affect baby health wise… except for the obvious stillbirth risk.
Here’s a really late welcome! I love the idea of a 6 year age gap- if I’d have been able to conceive earlier we’d have definitely aimed for that! How are the hematomas doing?
That is a scary thought! I hope your numbers stay nice and low, it’d be amazing if baby can come on their own time. But you’ll make the best decision for baby! Almost 3rd trimester, it’s crazy!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys! Resurfacing after FOREVER because I’m due a second baby in [name_f]June[/name_f] this year! We found out at our scan on [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] that we’re expecting a girl this time around. I’m endlessly excited. How is everyone doing with symptoms etc?
Well, my bile acids came back and they are elevated. liver enzymes are in the green but bile acids are 14.5. now, that’s a far cry from the 143 bile acids I had when I was pregnant with my daughter, but it does mean that [name_m]Mr[/name_m]. [name_m]Baby[/name_m] man will be evicted early to prevent stillbirth. [name_f]Any[/name_f] bile acids above 10 during pregnancy does damage to the placenta so stillbirth is a real possibility. Luckily he won’t have to be as early, even a week or two longer in the womb can make a difference. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] had to come out at 36 weeks, so hopefully we can keep him in a week or two longer.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries! I am a lifelong name nerd & now due with my second child and first girl on [name_f]April[/name_f] 25. (: We picked out her name literally about 7 years ago at this point and she is finally going to be here soon! [name_m]Her[/name_m] name is [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
I love that! If my baby was a girl, then her name would’ve been [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]!
I’m 35 weeks today and my bile acids have spiked to 40 which moves induction day up to no further than 37 weeks. Which means we will have our little guy here in about 2 weeks! Which is exciting. [name_f]My[/name_f] symptoms really took an uptick the day after my last bile acid draw so they drew them again today and my liver enzymes did double from [name_f]Monday[/name_f]. If the bile acids go over 100 then 36 weeks will be induction time. For now I’m just incredibly uncomfortable and itchy, although I’m grateful I don’t need to suffer the cholestasis itch for as long as I did with my daughter. [name_f]My[/name_f] symptoms up until this week were very mild. Anyway, happy birthday to me!
[name_m]Callum[/name_m] was born on the 19th of [name_f]March[/name_f] after my liver enzymes were getting too high, particularly my bilirubin. So they moved up my induction from 37 weeks to 36 weeks. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] was not pleased with being evicted early and struggled keeping his SATs up. [name_m]The[/name_m] hospital I gave birth in didn’t have a NICU so he was transferred to another hospital. My husband went with him, I followed the next evening. Then while I was staying with my tiny boy, my daughter got sick. So I couldn’t go home until she wasn’t sick and I couldn’t switch off with my husband because he was contaminated. So I stayed in the nicu and stopped at home for resupply.
After 17 days we are finally home!
What a journey to go through, you’re so strong! I’m glad you are home now and your family is all together ![]()
@hannahash Yay for being home! What a great milestone! ![]()
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear you’re finally home with your babies, and congratulations!
