Well, I just got a BFP

I have been posting in the previous due date group but I feel I should start posting here.
[name_f][/name_f]I’ve been so very anxious this pregnancy. I’ve had a miscarriage in 2020, immediately got pregnant again with my daughter [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], I had her in 2021. I had a miscarriage again in [name_m]January[/name_m] 2024, and I didn’t want to try again for a while. I had a chemical pregnancy this last [name_f]May[/name_f] and now I’m pregnant again. I’m now 8 weeks with a so-far healthy pregnancy. [name_m]Just[/name_m] had an ultrasound today and the heart rate is 165!
@hannahash[name_f][/name_f] Yay for a good scan and a healthy heartbeat!! 
Sorry for your losses. They can really do a number on wanting to try/ mental health. I’m so happy you heard baby’s heartbeat! That must’ve been so reassuring!
Yes it really really does. And I’m so much more nervous this time, I do believe it’s a pregnancy symptom but I also know it’s a very real fear. [name_f]My[/name_f] latest miscarriage was my first one at ten weeks, so I will probably breathe a bit easier after that even though I know there’s really no safe zone. But I’ll be celebrating every good ultrasound!
[name_m]Thirteen[/name_m] weeks now! Baby’s heart rate is great! One interesting thing is my baby has a one artery umbilical cord, which can indicate some dangerous things if other anomalies were noted. Luckily, no other abnormalities were noted and my OB told me not to worry. She also said that in some cases like this they do extra growth ultrasounds further down the road to make sure baby is growing well.
[name_f][/name_f]We also did a blood draw for a liver panel, and my liver is not happy with me so I have a referral to internal medicine and a high risk pregnancy consultation. Ohhh boy…..
oh no, I hope your liver decides to behave! But it sounds like you and baby will be watched closely so that must feel a bit reassuring.
[name_f][/name_f]I get my NT scan in less than 2 weeks! Hoping all turns out well for us. I swear the first trimester goes by so much faster with a toddler running around the house lol
Lots to discuss. So my first NIPT done at 12 weeks and 5 days came back with not enough fetal DNA. I already had a high risk appointments set up so we discussed it there, I got it redone at 15 weeks and 1 day. I will not be doing an amniocentesis if this NIPT comes back with still not enough fetal DNA or comes back with a risk factor for any trisomies. It’s too risky and won’t change my decision to go forward with the pregnancy. Everything else on the ultrasound looks great except for a one artery umbilical cord which does not indicate anything all by itself.
[name_f][/name_f]Liver is definitely upset with me but my bile acids are in normal range, and not even on the edge of abnormal. So liver panels say that, yes, my liver is upset with me, but it’s not an immediate concern and we’ll keep our eye on it going forward.
[name_f][/name_f]I am super stressed out and I need to not be because as I said, abnormalities in the pregnancy will not change the course of this pregnancy. If they don’t survive the pregnancy or live only a few minutes, hours, or days, that will be minutes, hours, or days I will hold them and love them.
[name_f][/name_f]But it’s so hard because all a parent wants for their child is to be happy and healthy and outlive them.
[name_f][/name_f]Does anyone have good stories about an NIPT not coming back with fetal DNA the first time but getting good results the second time?
@hannahash[name_f][/name_f] I’m sorry you are feeling stressed. It’s not exactly the same, but a friend of mine had a stressful pregnancy after getting a bunch of markers for Downs in her results. [name_f]Baby[/name_f] was 100% healthy and fine, and is now a perfect 3 year old. Her experience lead me to choose to not do genetic testing while pregnant, and my GP actually agreed that more information is not actually always helpful, especially if it impacts negatively on your mental health and wouldn’t change your plans to continue the pregnancy anyway. I hope your baby is perfect and the test is just an glitch.
Thank you! I wouldn’t have done the test except it was covered by insurance because of previous losses and I’m really excited to know the gender! But since I learned that the low DNA in my blood could mean a problem with little baby I wish I hadn’t done the test at all! I’ll let y’all know when I get the NIPT back this time around, I had it done [name_m]Friday[/name_m] and last time I waited 8 days for results. Although allegedly since I’ve done an NIPT draw already with this pregnancy, results should come back quicker because they have a bit of a profile already.

Big sigh of relief! Low risk for all of the things! And since the ultrasound looks absolutely normal I think there is little to no risk at this point. Of course things could show up on the 20 week ultrasound, but at this point I’m very happy. And baby is a boy!!!

[name_f][/name_f]I have my NT scan tomorrow, and that’s the ultrasound where we found out my son had a condition incompatible with life. So I’m freaking out a little bit. But I’m also trying to just trust that everything will be okay like it was my last pregnancy.
That’s always a stressful one! [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter had nuchal translucency that was 2mm and I know that’s normal but it did make me worry a bit. This current pregnancy has 1.5mm.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hope[/name_f] everything works out and looks normal for you tomorrow!
This baby’s is 2mm as well! NIPT came back completely low risk for everything & the scan went really well. The woman let my husband stay in the room with us and we watched the whole time. Best ultrasound experience I’ve ever had!
[name_f][/name_f]Now I can relax a little bit knowing this baby is healthy so far. They measured 14 weeks just like my daughter did. So I have a feeling this baby will be coming before 40 weeks too!

[name_f][/name_f]I also got good news from my blood work. [name_f]My[/name_f] liver enzymes are back in normal range! They will fluctuate a bit and we’re still going to watch them closely but it’s good news that they aren’t super out of control this early on
20 week ultrasound confirmed our baby is a BOY! And he is HEALTHY! Which is all I could have dreamed of. This is the calmest I’ve been since I found out I was pregnant.
