Sharing disappointment. I went in to get my NIPT, bright eyed and bushy tailed and freshly 10 weeks. Well, they highly recommended I wait a few days. Almost shaming me in my decision to do it today anyway. I got into the little blood drawing room and decided at last minute to follow their directives. [name_m]Just[/name_m] really bummed because I was so excited to get it done today.

I just want to know… am I having a [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], or a [name_f]Fern[/name_f]? Are they low risk?

Thanks, all [name_f][/name_f] I had started to think it might be a boy, so seeing “female” threw me lol. We’re thrilled although, if I may be fully transparent, I’m a bit nervous about having a daughter. Mother/daughter relationships can be soooo complex and my own relationship with my mother has been tumultuous at best. I don’t want my daughter to have to deal with what I did, what my mother did with her mother and stepmother, etc.
[name_f][/name_f]I’m probably overthinking it but I am nervous.

Anyhow, in other news, we’re almost positive her name will be [name_f]Isla[/name_f] :hibiscus:[name_f][/name_f] middle names are a bit up in the air.

@turnip[name_f][/name_f] oh man, that’s rough :frowning:[name_f][/name_f] sorry you have to wait even longer! I love those names, btw!

@namergirl3[name_f][/name_f] You can be the mother to your daughter that you wish you had as a child. Childhood trauma is so painful, but also an opportunity to grow and be better than the people that raised us. I’m sure you’ll be a great mum to your little girl. You aren’t the same person as the people that let you down, and you’re already aware of what you don’t want to repeat. You can do this. :heartpulse:

@turnip[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] are really beautiful names
[name_f][/name_f]@namergirl3[name_f][/name_f] so nice that both of you have names chosen already! It took us forever to name our son, I hope this time around it will be easier. Congratulations on your girl, and just like you, I got the NIPT results and its a low risk girl :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:[name_f][/name_f] it feels a bit weird as im used to being a boy mum, cant even picture baby girl clothes at the moment!
