Sharing disappointment. I went in to get my NIPT, bright eyed and bushy tailed and freshly 10 weeks. Well, they highly recommended I wait a few days. Almost shaming me in my decision to do it today anyway. I got into the little blood drawing room and decided at last minute to follow their directives. [name_m]Just[/name_m] really bummed because I was so excited to get it done today.

[name_f][/name_f]

I just want to know… am I having a [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], or a [name_f]Fern[/name_f]? Are they low risk?

Thanks, all [name_f][/name_f] I had started to think it might be a boy, so seeing “female” threw me lol. We’re thrilled although, if I may be fully transparent, I’m a bit nervous about having a daughter. Mother/daughter relationships can be soooo complex and my own relationship with my mother has been tumultuous at best. I don’t want my daughter to have to deal with what I did, what my mother did with her mother and stepmother, etc.
[name_f][/name_f]I’m probably overthinking it but I am nervous.

[name_f][/name_f]

Anyhow, in other news, we’re almost positive her name will be [name_f]Isla[/name_f] :hibiscus:[name_f][/name_f] middle names are a bit up in the air.

[name_f][/name_f]

@turnip[name_f][/name_f] oh man, that’s rough :frowning:[name_f][/name_f] sorry you have to wait even longer! I love those names, btw!

@namergirl3[name_f][/name_f] You can be the mother to your daughter that you wish you had as a child. Childhood trauma is so painful, but also an opportunity to grow and be better than the people that raised us. I’m sure you’ll be a great mum to your little girl. You aren’t the same person as the people that let you down, and you’re already aware of what you don’t want to repeat. You can do this. :heartpulse:

@turnip[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] are really beautiful names
[name_f][/name_f]@namergirl3[name_f][/name_f] so nice that both of you have names chosen already! It took us forever to name our son, I hope this time around it will be easier. Congratulations on your girl, and just like you, I got the NIPT results and its a low risk girl :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:[name_f][/name_f] it feels a bit weird as im used to being a boy mum, cant even picture baby girl clothes at the moment!

@_thelittlefairywren[name_f][/name_f] thank you so much for that :heartpulse:[name_f][/name_f] I appreciate your words a lot!

[name_f][/name_f]

@AlSP[name_f][/name_f] yay, congratulations!!! Oh my goodness, we bought a pink sleeper the other day and it was so strange! Lol! Definitely understand that!

[name_f][/name_f]It’s crazy to me that this weekend I’ll be 15 weeks! It’s going by very quickly now but there’s still so far to go :upside_down_face:[name_f][/name_f] we have a check up next week and then will probably get the anatomy scan scheduled. We’re contemplating also going to one of those private ultrasound places, so our son can get to see his baby sister.
[name_f][/name_f]Other than that, not much going on. Insomnia has been horrible but that’s about it.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone else is doing well 🩵

I’d love to tentatively join this thread, if you’ll have me! I just tested positive yesterday morning and am likely only 4 +2 today. Using an online due date calculator, it’s estimating a due date of September 30! I’m so excited to be here.

Just a little backstory: I’m 29, husband will be 30 next month and this will be our first child. We’ve been together 10 years this year and will be married 5 in May, so this feels like a perfect year to be blessed with a baby :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: We did have an early miscarriage in October at only 5 + 2, so I am a little nervous about this one being sticky. However, this pregnancy feels a little different than the last, so I’m deciding to take that as a good sign!

Got our NIPT results back. Low risk baby boy!

[name_f][/name_f]

We are 2 and done. [name_f]Amazing[/name_f] to think that I will be a mom with two sons. I always imagined having a daughter, but here I am! Now I am excitedly planning a life with two sons.

[name_f][/name_f]

Earlier today, it was [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] that we agreed on, but then he brought up [name_m]Fox[/name_m] and it is his new favourite. I like [name_m]Fox[/name_m], too. We’ll see how things progress!

How exciting! Congratulations! Hoping for a sticky baby for you as well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:[name_f][/name_f] I had a MC in [name_f]July[/name_f], so I know that tentative feeling.

Crashing this thread to say [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is SUCH a HANDSOME combination. oh my gosh…

I still have to do lists and a lot of thinking, but right now we’re torn between Lar@ Elis@ and Ameli@ M@bel, M@bel is a family name my husband really wants to use, but I dont think I like it

I love that combo, too, but my nephew has the middle name [name_m]Fox[/name_m] already and I am worried that would be too much. WDYT? He lives in another country and will be 10 years older, so completely different identity and life from our baby.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either of those combos. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think you’d shorten [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] to [name_f]Mia[/name_f]? I like [name_f]Lara[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] if you choose to use [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].

I personally wouldn’t see it as a problem…but you know your family better than I do lol.
