Late announcement, but [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Barret[/name_m] arrived on [name_f]November[/name_f] 14th! [name_f]My[/name_f] water broke at about 5am and he was born a little before 7pm.
We settled on a boy name pretty early in pregnancy. I’ve always loved names (completely wore out a baby name dictionary when I was a teenager) so I was way more into the naming process and had a huge list of options. I even made my husband try out the Kinder app with me. In the end, he came up with the name we both fell in love with! [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] was on my list but not one of my top choices until he picked it off the list. For him, it honors the memory of a friend who passed away.
He suggested the combo with [name_m]Barret[/name_m], which was similar in sound to other names I liked. I love the rhythm of the full name and the Biblical meaning of [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. It’s also a nod to favorite fandoms for both of us. [name_m]Sam[/name_m] made my list partly because of The [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings, and [name_m]Barret[/name_m] was inspired by Final [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] VII (my husband was replaying it around the time we found out I was pregnant, and then the name popped up on Kinder).
I like the nickname [name_m]Sam[/name_m], while my husband likes to call him by his full name. He’s keeping us busy! Nameberry was a great resource and I enjoyed getting to know the community during pregnancy.
Your baby boy has a very handsome name! It seems like both of you had a wonderful time choosing it. It’s amazing how you found such a meaningful combination that honors a loved one, connects to your faith, and reflects your shared interests.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Good luck with everything!
