I love the name “[name_m]Sharp[/name_m]” for our baby boy, but the wife hates it. I think it’s a short, strong name! Am I crazy? Thoughts?!
Thanks!

I can understand the appeal, but I don’t think it would work on a real person, sorry. Maybe you’d both like something similar?

It is a short, strong name, but it’s also rather… sharp!
What about [name_m]Stark[/name_m]?

I am not loving it, sorry. I think @silverrose’s suggestions are wonderful, especially [name_m]Clark[/name_m] and [name_m]Colt[/name_m]!

I agree with your wife. I dislike it. If you want a short, strong name, how about:
[name_m]Flint[/name_m]
[name_m]Locke[/name_m]
[name_m]Stone[/name_m]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u]
[name_m]Hawk[/name_m]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Slade[/name_m]?
Maybe as a nickname or a middle name?
These are my favorite kinds of names - short, simple but unusual and strong sounding. However, [name_m]Sharp[/name_m] is an adjective and that doesn’t work for me. It would be like assigning a trait such as Smart [name_m]Jones[/name_m] or something. However, here are a few I do think are usable:
Edge
[name_m]Ridge[/name_m]
[name_m]Jove[/name_m]
[name_m]Cove[/name_m]
[name_u]Lake[/name_u]
[name_m]Venn[/name_m]
It tough because it’s not a typical name. Here’s the thing all names like that aren’t wearable until you meet someone with that name. [name_m]Sharp[/name_m] has a little bit of a special connection to me. I have two relatives in my family tree named Smart [name_m]Wilson[/name_m], a father and son. According to my grandmother they both wore the name very well.
Now, since your wife isn’t in agreement, it appears the name is off limits. Perhaps Sharpton (although that reminds me of [name_m]Al[/name_m] Sharpton, which isn’t bad, just wouldn’t be the association I’d want people to have).
Oh man, maybe it really doesn’t work as a first name! I keep saying “[name_m]Sharp[/name_m]” over and over again every day to see if it works and I still like it! ” I was hoping more people on here would like it!
