So I have been obsessing over baby names ever since I found out I was pregnant (and long before that!) and I’m finding the boys names to be so much more difficult than the girls! My husband and I find out next week if it’s a boy or a girl, but I’ve been feeling all along that I’m having a boy I really like some of the cool/edgy names as my husband is a musician and we both love music.
So far I have a list of names I like, not sure if these all fit into the same category, but can you help me think up some more names? I’m looking for something classic with a modern twist that’s not common but not totally out there either (confusing, right!?) If you can throw out some more names for us to consider I would appreciate it!
I like [name]Gibson[/name] the best, it stood out to me right away and the fact you and your husband love music, it reminded me of a music baby because of a [name]Gibson[/name] guitar. Which can be taken in a good way or bad depending on how YOU look at it. I just like the resemblance. I find it trendy, and cool. And the nn Gibs isnt bad either! Good luck and congrats!
Congrats, I’m having a baby in [name]March[/name] too (and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a boy…).
I like [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Milo[/name], [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Axel[/name] from your list. [name]Dunstan[/name], [name]Rudy[/name] & [name]Rufus[/name] are my suggestions!
I have a softspot for the name [name]March[/name] nn “Marchie” for a boy. I also think it’s a nice mn. You have some nice names on your list. My favorite is [name]Lincoln[/name].
[name]Archer[/name] (this is really skyrocketing in popularity lately, if that is a concern for you)
[name]Axel[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name] (a personal favorite)
[name]Jasper[/name] (another favorite that unfortunately looks like it’s going to be the next [name]John[/name], [name]Mark[/name], or [name]Michael[/name])
[name]Micah[/name] (I like the way this honors your father-in-law without being an overt hand-me-down name)
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Lennon[/name]
[name]Malone[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name] ([name]Love[/name] your idea of nn [name]Finn[/name]!)
I think my favorite for you from this list is [name]Lennon[/name]. It’s unique, but not unheard of, and has that rocker edge without being corny or trying too hard.
Some music-inspired names from all over the map (because I never get to suggest these, so you are my excuse!):
[name]Forte[/name]
Coda
[name]Allegro[/name]
Vivace (lesser known music term, means “lively”, pronouced “vē-vä’ch””)
[name]Sebastian[/name] (as in [name]Bach[/name])
[name]Amadeus[/name] (as in [name]Mozart[/name])
[name]Lyric[/name]
[name]Rhythm[/name] or Rhyme
Anthem
[name]Drummer[/name]
[name]Marley[/name]
[name]Zeppelin[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Hendrix[/name]
[name]Jagger[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Barkley[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Dorian[/name] (love this one…the name of a series of diatonic scales)
[name]Chanson[/name] (pronounced SHäNˈsôn, a French song)
[name]Uriel[/name] (angel of music)
I know that some of these are a little out there, but could still be useful for brainstorming purposes! Good luck!
My first son is called [name_m]Milo[/name_m] so that would be my pick from your list! And I’m due another boy in [name_u]March[/name_u] as well - we are calling him [name_u]Gray[/name_u]!
