Our baby boy is due in 1 week and we still haven’t decided on a name. We have it narrowed down to 3 choices: [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Jude[/name], or [name]Arthur[/name].
He will be joining his brother [name]Harrison[/name] and sister [name]Corina[/name] (cor-reen-na).
I really love all 3 names, we had decided on naming him [name]Oliver[/name] months ago, but I have since realized just how popular it is becoming, so I am having some reservations about using it.
I’d love any input on what name you think goes best with my other children.
I really love [name]Oliver[/name] with your sibset, but my second choice would be [name]Jude[/name]! I think if you love the name, I wouldn’t worry about the popularity too much!
I’m going to cast a vote for [name]Arthur[/name]! Wonderful classic that’s sounding cuter and more stylish, and [name]Artie[/name] or [name]Art[/name] are adorable nicknames. Yes, [name]Oliver[/name] is wonderful, but I think that [name]Arthur[/name] is much more of a stand-out name.
I really have a easier time imagining [name]Arthur[/name] with your other children. But if you really love [name]Oliver[/name], I wouldn’t let the popularity steer you away from it. [name]Oliver[/name] would be really cute.
[name]Harrison[/name], [name]Corina[/name], and [name]Oliver[/name] is my favorite, but I think [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Corina[/name], and [name]Jude[/name] would be lovely, too.
Either [name]Arthur[/name] or [name]Jude[/name] would be just fine. [name]Do[/name] you have a middle name in mind that might go better with one or the other?
I love all three names, but I’m going to dismiss [name]Jude[/name] because the one syllable seems too brief next to [name]Harrison[/name] and [name]Corina[/name].
I will vote for [name]Arthur[/name] because it just seems fresher and because I like [name]Art[/name] and [name]Artie[/name] as nns over [name]Ollie[/name].
But, as others have said, I think you shouldn’t let the popularity bother you if [name]Oliver[/name] really seems like THE name.
I love [name]Jude[/name] it is a lovely name but really I think my vote would be for [name]Arthur[/name]. It seems fresh and classy and has adorable nn options like [name]Art[/name] and [name]Artie[/name]. [name]Arthur[/name] seems like an underused classic so that one would get my vote.
[name]Arthur[/name]! [name]Jude[/name] would be my second choice. I also like the idea of [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Jude[/name] or [name]Jude[/name] [name]Arthur[/name].
I like [name]Jude[/name] the best. With [name]Harrison[/name] as a brother that may be a strong Beatles connection, which may or may not be an issue. My second favourite is [name]Oliver[/name].
We have narrowed it down to [name]Jude[/name] or [name]Arthur[/name], making progress!!
Now the middle name comes into play…we were pretty set on using [name]John[/name] as a middle since it is my husbands middle name, as well as his grandfathers name, but there is something about the name [name]Jude[/name] [name]John[/name] that doesn’t sit well with me.
So if we were to decide on [name]Jude[/name] we’d have to find a new middle. I’m big on family names so it would probably be either [name]Jude[/name] [name]Robert[/name] or [name]Jude[/name] [name]Edmund[/name].
Narrowing it down to these three what do you think:
I like the sound and feel of [name]Jude[/name] [name]Edmund[/name] the most, but I feel the family connection to [name]John[/name] should trump. [name]Arthur[/name] [name]John[/name] is a lovely name.
