We don’t know the sex. But if it’s a boy it will be [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]. If it is a girl, we were sold on [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. But I am doubting myself! And only 7 weeks left! Ahh! So opinions please, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f]? We are quite sold in [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] as a mn. Any other suggestions are welcome as well. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is so in love with our boy name that I really don’t have any say at all. But the girl name is still unsure.
I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f].
I think both names are pretty, and you really couldn’t go wrong. I do like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] better than [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (I love seeing [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a first name rather than relegated to the middle–it’s so soft and sweet and pretty), but as a combo, I thing [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] sounds a teensy bit better than [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], so it kind of all evens out, haha. [name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_u]Josie[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosy[/name_f] would make adorable nicknames (if you want to use one). And I love [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] as a middle, by the way.
I would think about what made you choose [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in the first place and what made you start doubting it–maybe that will help you decide to keep it or change it.
If you’re not happy with either…
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
Actually, I have always loved the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. But, it was my childhood dogs name. I think I settled on [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] because I thought it was in general, just a beautiful name. But recently, I’ve been wondering if I would regret not using [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. What if this baby is a girl. And then, what if she’s the only girl we have? Would I wish I would have named her [name_f]Rose[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]? [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] is my late grandmothers name and I really want to use it. I do have doubts of how [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] sounds though. ( [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]?) I’ve also considered alternatives to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] like, [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f]. But I really like the simplicity or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and I think I would be compromising too much by making it into something I don’t even want. I was so sure on [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] but as the day gets closer I dread the moment when they tell me it’s a girl and ask her name. Lol, seems crazy. ( of course since I’m stressing about girl names, lil one will probably be a boy. )
They are both beautiful names and you really can’t go wrong.
It sounds like you love Rose. I think Rose Elaine works, but if you decide not to go with it here are some other ideas…
What about Rose Helena (he-LAY-na)?
Helena & Elaine are both versions of Helen, so if you are using Elaine to honour someone special I think this could still work.
Or maybe Rose Leonora?
This is another Helen variation.
Some other ideas…
Elaina Rose
Elaine Rose
Elena Rose
Elina Rose
Ella Rose
Ellen Rose
Ellie Rose
Eleanor Rose
Helena Rose
Lainie Rose
Leonora Rose
Nellie Rose
Rose Aveline (not a Helen variation)
Rose Helen
Rose Irene (not a Helen variation)
Or you could use another middle between Rose & Elaine?
Ie Rose Marie Elaine
Good luck!
Awww, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] is so precious & romantic. It’s very soft & gentle. I love it.
I also like [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] as a compose but I prefer simple [name_f]Rose[/name_f] too.
On the other hand [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] is another pretty name. I just dont love it as much as I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
Ugh that it’s a difficult decision but in the end it’s up to you & your husband. Maybe you can take both [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] to the hospital & see what namesuit the best to the little girl?
PS : [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is super handsome!
Good luck
Go for [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. I think you won’t have any regrets if you do. The fact that you named a dog rose just shows how much you’ve always loved the name. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let that deter you!
I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]! It sounds so beautiful.
I think that if you love all 3 names, you should use all 3 names. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] both sound pretty.
Congrats, I’m due in [name_f]July[/name_f] too (gender unknown as well)! I like both [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but would love to see [name_f]Rose[/name_f] on a little girl not as a middle name! We would highly consider it ourselves, but it doesn’t work with our last name. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so sweet and simple, but still has then option for nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], which is adorable on a little girl! Plus, I love flower names. Good luck! And take comfort: we haven’t decided 100% on either name!
Also, I try not to worry too much about how the middle name sounds with the first because you don’t say them together very often. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] sounds just fine!
Thanks guys! I just have to reboots my own confidence when choosing the name I think. I know both names are pretty and I won’t regret either.
