[name]Just[/name] found out we’re having a girl. My son is 18 mos. and is named after his great grandfather, [name]Vincent[/name]. ** Oh, the name has to sound good with [name]Vince[/name] (a good “sibset” and I typically like older names, or ones w/ good meaning. Here goes our list:
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Eve[/name] (nn [name]Ros[/name]… sounds like “roz”)
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] (nn [name]Gwen[/name]) my hubby’s fave… need middle name, maybe [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] (well, I just like this name)
[name]Calista[/name] [name]Irene[/name] (name would mean “most beautiful peace” I just love it. Possible nn is Cece)
Other suggestions welcome!
[name]Just[/name] for fun… I’ve been obsessed w/names since I was a little girl. My fave name in 8th grade (oh, about 17 years ago) was [name]Andromeda[/name] [name]Jayda[/name]-Abrie (Abrie is pronounced uh-bree… and her nn would be [name]Andie[/name]). Anyone feel free to use this!!! It would never fly with my hubby or family… and yes, I do care about that! lol
[name]Everly[/name] [name]Rae[/name]: [name]Even[/name] though it does honor family, it’s still trendy and made-up. It won’t age well, and doesn’t sound very professional to me. What about [name]Evelyn[/name]?
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Eve[/name]: This is absolutely gorgeous! I prefer the rosa-lind pronunciation, but I think the one you’re using (roz-a-lind?) is more legit. It’s great with [name]Vincent[/name]!
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]: I’ve never really been a fan of [name]Gwendolen[/name], but it’s a nice name. I would spell it the original way, with the EN ending. [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Eve[/name] is lovely.
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]: I love this combo! There is a lot of PH sound, but it’s not too bad. You could also do [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Serena[/name]. [name]Vince[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] sound great as a sibset.
[name]Calista[/name] [name]Irene[/name]: This is lovely, too! Great meaning, and flows really well. Other nicknames for [name]Calista[/name] could be [name]Callie[/name] or [name]Lissie[/name], or Liss… come to think of it, [name]Calista[/name] is a little close in sound to [name]Vincent[/name]…
[name]Everly[/name] [name]Rae[/name] - It’s nice to honor family, but looking at the rest of your list and seeing this name just screams “tryndee” to me. [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rae[/name] would be nicer as suggested.
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Eve[/name] - I love this one! Classic and beautiful, and goes wonderfully with [name]Vince[/name].
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] - [name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Eve[/name] is gorgeous! I really like the nickname [name]Gwen[/name] also. [name]Gwen[/name] & [name]Vince[/name] sound great. Tough call between [name]Gwendolyn[/name] and [name]Rosalind[/name]!
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] - It’s a little “ph” heavy but I’m not too bothered. I think [name]Daphne[/name] is wonderful and underused, and I love seeing [name]Sophia[/name] as a middle name.
[name]Calista[/name] [name]Irene[/name] - I love [name]Calista[/name] but I’m not crazy for [name]Irene[/name] (though I love [name]Irina[/name]). I like the meaning, and I do think the two go rather nicely together. [name]Calista[/name] [name]Eve[/name] is another combo that would be nice.
[name]Andromeda[/name] - I wish you would use this! I adore [name]Andromeda[/name] ([name]Andromeda[/name] [name]Eve[/name] sounds awesome!)
So in order, this is what I would go with:
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Eve[/name] -> [name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Eve[/name] -> [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] -> [name]Calista[/name] [name]Irene[/name] -> [name]Everly[/name] [name]Rae[/name]
Honestly, I think your daughter will be really well named with any of these options (except [name]Everly[/name] though, no offense).
I’m so glad I posted. I may sound like a nerd, but I needed this! It’s difficult finding those on the same “wavelength”. But outside sources (that love name research as much as I do) are just good, good, good! Thanks a bunch!
I like [name]Everly[/name] actually. Although, [name]Evelyn[/name] is great too (and it’s my grandmother’s name). My favorite though of the names you listed is [name]Calista[/name] [name]Irene[/name].
