We’re expecting baby girl #3, and at a bit of an impasse on names. We tend to like simple, friendly girl names, like the list here on nameberry “[name_u]Blue[/name_u] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names”
Other daughters go by [name_f]Jenny[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
Husband wants [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], which I a)don’t love and b)think is way too close to [name_f]Jenny[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but seems very popular where we live, so am thinking about combining it into a double name, and husband isn’t so keen on double names.
Others I like are [name_f]Laura[/name_f] or [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ([name_f]Meg[/name_f]), [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Beth[/name_f]), and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].
[name_f]Jenny[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are lovely, and as you said they are ‘blue jean names’ which means they’re perfect at every age If you don’t love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] by itself, what about [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]? It’s not a double name, so theoretically it should be fine. Also, WDYT of:

I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Amy[/name_f]/[name_f]Aimee[/name_f]. Instead of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], what do you think of [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f]? Like a smoosh of [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? So many others of these are already in use by family/close friends, but lovely choices! Thanks!

Yes, [name_f]Bess[/name_f] is one of the treasure trove of nn’s for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Bess[/name_f] because it sounds very friendly and approachable. You could get two names for the price of one if you choose [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and give her the nn [name_f]Margot[/name_f] (it would avoid the repetitive “ee” sound of [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]). And [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]) is so down-to-earth and unfussy that I can quite see her charm too.
I also like the idea of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Jenny[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
