Baby Girl Carrigan?

What do you think of the name Carrigan for a girl? Specifically Carrigan [name_f]Paige[/name_f]… For some reason I cannot seem to get this name out of my head, my husband and I both really like it, but neither of us are completely “sold”. I think part of my hesitation is that it has not been in the top 1,000 names [name_u]EVER[/name_u]… so does that make it too weird? Help please!!

I’m finding less and less that I care about the name stats. If I love the name it goes on the list regardless.

Honestly, I really like Carrigan. It’s boyish, but has a unisex feel to it. I could see an adorable little girl bearing this name quite well – especially since there’s bound to be Rileys and Harpers and Marlowes and Finleys around. My mom’s name is [name_f]Kerri[/name_f] so this might also be my draw to the name!

I have considered [name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m] for a girl. I think it’s a great name and even though its not too common, it’s not weird or “out there.”

I much prefer this spelling to [name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m], it’s surprisingly equal parts soft and edgy. I love it, go for it!

I teach Pre-K and was lucky enough to get a Carrigan this year! She’s an awesome kid. She’s blonde, blue-eyed, super smart (the most advanced in the class, shhh… ) and really sweet. Based entirely on the Carrigan I know, I would recommend it!

I love Carrigan! There’s a girl called Karigan in book series by [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] [name_m]Britain[/name_m].

I wouldn’t worry about the popularity. The name is easily pronounceable and recognisable, so it won’t be considered weird.

It’s a good name. As mentioned above it is pronounceable and recognizable, and while still being unique. Go for it! [name_f]Paige[/name_f] works nicely as a middle as well.

I don’t think it’s weird, particularly, but I don’t like it much either.

It just seems like a repurposed surname, and I’m not much for the ‘gan’ sound at the end of names ([name_f]Megan[/name_f], etc.)

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] Carrigan. She has almost always been one of my favorite names! She’s fun and quirky and pretty…Carrigan [name_f]Paige[/name_f] is a beautiful combination. It gets a HUGE vote yes from me!

I love this name! I think it sounds like a sweet name for an intelligent and strong girl

[name_f]My[/name_f] 20 year old daughter’s name is Karigan [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I still love it but she absolutely hates it. She can’t get anyone to pronounce it correctly. Carrington, Corrigan, she got called all sorts of things. [name_m]Even[/name_m] with all of that I would do it again. There was not another Karigan in our county until she turned 5. Her first grade teacher named their daughter [name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m] and then ruined our streak.

I like the combo of Carrigan [name_f]Paige[/name_f] and the nn of [name_f]Carrie[/name_f]. I sometimes become gobsmacked with people not being able to say a simple name like Carrigan if they have any trouble just say it is like cardigan.

rollo

I think it’s a super cute name. I’m actually surprised that it isn’t more common!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it!!!

Not a fan of this. It reminds me of ‘cardigan’. I find it quite surnamey too.
