Baby girl Georgia?

Would it be weird to name our daughter [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] since we live in [name_f]Atlanta[/name_f], GA? I love the name and have reasons to want to use it that have nothing to do with the state, but I worry it would be odd or she’d get made fun of.

Our last name doesn’t lend itself to names that end in a y sound or 3-syllable names, and we don’t want anything too common, so that rules out a lot of great girl options. Our first daughter is [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] too close in sound? Other names we love but don’t want to use are [name_f]Stella[/name_f] (our dog’s name), [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (too common around here), [name_f]Emelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] (too many syllables). If you don’t like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], other ideas are much appreciated!

Thanks!

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is gorgeous, and lovely with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], but yes, it might be a little weird considering where you live.

Maybe you’d like…

[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

Good luck finding something you love!

I feel like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] might be a bit similar, considering they share the same initial, both make the same ‘j’ sound, are two syllables, both end in a and are both soft, yet sturdy names.

Maybe:

I think it could work, might be a little cheesy with where you live but it’s not something I would think was a big deal

I think [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is beautiful, and it’s my little sister’s name so it’s close to my heart for that reason :). [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] sound fine to me, quite pretty together and definitely not too close.

Otherwise [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is gorgeous.

I know a [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] with a little sister [name_f]Laura[/name_f], do you like that? Some other ideas…
