Baby girl is home. Still no name. Help!

Our little lady made her arrival on [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] and we still haven’t officially decided on a name.

During the pregnancy, we had decided on [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] for a first name, as we both love the name. I am terribly indecisive and never fully made up my mind on the name as “the one”, even though my husband had. Right now, the only other contender for a first name is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], which at this point my husband will go for either.

We were thinking [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] or [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

Here are some names that are our style and that were on our list. If you could add to them, make some combos out of these names, or add your own, I’d appreciate it! [name_m]Just[/name_m] trying to get some last minute ideas before we fill out the birth certificate!

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (not usable with our last name)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Mathilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]

I can’t even think of anything else now. We have big sister [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and it suits her perfectly. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think we should just stick with our original choices of either [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? Too much over thinking at this point on too little sleep! Either way, some fresh combos and new ideas may help!

Thanks so much and please excuse the “all over the place” manner that is this post!

I prefer [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] over [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but would not use them together. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is awfully clunky, even for someone who likes that sort of thing. I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] sounds much nicer.

Congratulations to you! I hope things are going well.

The names you are thinking about are all beautiful; whatever you chose is going to be great. In my opinion…

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is the perfect name for a sibling [name_f]Violet[/name_f]; they make a perfect pair because they are both nature names, both associated with a similar era, both feminine and charming. Another berry recently said she had fallen out of love with all her favourite girl names, but when she paired them with fresh middles, she fell in love with them again. Perhaps that is what you should do: take [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], and pair it with something new and fresh that you haven’t considered before.

Because your first daughter is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], I am inclined to suggest single-syllable middles for you:

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Jill[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Love[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Lux[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
Clementine Ruth
Clementine Mim
Clementine Pearl
Clementine Meg

Best wishes to you and your new babe.

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is gorgeous! However, if you don’t love it, here are some more options:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and her little sister…
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Clio[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
Best of luck!

I love both, but [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] gets my vote!

I prefer [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], just to avoid the obvious nature theme. But they’re both lovely names.

I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]!

Some other combo options:

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementina[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (not sure if you would use the -a ending but I think it flows better here)
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]

The other names on your list don’t work well with the firsts you’re considering, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

[name_m]Both[/name_m] are really amazing names and u can’t go wrong.

I like them both but my favourite combo from your list is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! Good luck!

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]

Aw, congratulations! Not sure if you’ve settled on a name or not at this point, but I’ll chip in just in case!

You’ve got great names on your list. I agree [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is particularly clunky, and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is marginally better, flow-wise. I’d also say that with [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] feels just a tad theme-y, as both are technically nature names. Now, that’s a picky thing, but if it helps you make a decision…

Off your list, with big sister [name_f]Violet[/name_f], my favorite is actually [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. I just adore it! It has the same classic, vintage feel with that sweet, feminine flair. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a little more “oomph,” whereas [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is slightly more precious, but still very much in keeping with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]'s style. You can’t really go wrong with anything on your list, though. Ultimately, as hard as it is, I have to say go with your gut. You have to pick a name, like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], that you will be happy with forever, huh?

Okay, for kicks, I’ll suggest a few that I might go for if I was naming [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]'s baby sister:

[name_f]Amabel[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

Good luck!

[name_m]Lemon[/name_m]

Congratulations!

To me, the softer and gentler the vintage selection, the better it complements [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and:

[name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Alma[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
