[name]Hi[/name] ladies,
I have posted a few forums over the past two months but I feel like I need to start over.
We are expecting a girl in the next six to 10 weeks, to join big brother [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Paul[/name].
We want to continue the Bible-based trend for a first name and a family name for the middle (we are leaning toward [name]Lauren[/name] or [name]Majorie[/name], maybe [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Hazel[/name]).
We’ve had a few names rise to the top of the list but nothing that we both love.
I don’t want to give out ideas because I want to get a fresh list and see if a few on our list come back to us. The name doesn’t have to be a name from the Bible. It could be a place name or a symbol.
Please give me all you’ve got because I’ve really become frustrated.
Thanks!!!
[name]Susannah[/name] is my favorite biblical name. After that, [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Leah[/name], and [name]Rebecca[/name]. [name]Susannah[/name] seems the freshest right now.
I’ve heard of [name]Selah[/name] from the book of Psalms. i think it means to pause, reflect, maybe focus on God?
[name]Ruth[/name] and [name]Esther[/name] are my favorites. [name]Ruthie[/name] is sweet too, or [name]Essie[/name].
[name]Rebecca[/name], [name]Susanna[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Julia[/name], and [name]Magdalena[/name] are my favorites. I would love to have a set of daughters with those names. I also like [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Bethany[/name].
P.S. I love your son’s name, [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Paul[/name].

I’m a big fan of [name]Elisabeth[/name] at the moment. And I like the Bible-inspired names like [name]Gloria[/name], [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Joy[/name], etc. I dont think anyone has mentioned [name]Chloe[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name] yet. [name]Petra[/name] is kind of cool, but I wouldn’t be bold enough to use it, personally. [name]Seraphina[/name] is kind of cute to pair with [name]Gabriel[/name] since they are both angelic.
[name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Damaris[/name] (I love the nickname [name]Maris[/name])
A version of [name]Mary[/name] like [name]Mariel[/name]?
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
Rahab (I’ve always liked her bravery and strength of character)
[name]Ruth[/name]
Here’s some names that weren’t mentioned yet, but are in the Bible…
[name]Noa[/name] (pronounced like [name]Noah[/name] but it’s the female version and you can find more about [name]Noa[/name]'s story in Exodus)
Kezziah (I think [name]Kizzie[/name] is a cute nn)
[name]Abiah[/name] (pronounced uh-by-ah)
[name]Dinah[/name]
[name]Jemima[/name]- super cute name [name]Mimi[/name] for a nn
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Salma[/name]
[name]Michaela[/name], [name]Philippa[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Stephanie[/name], [name]Danielle[/name], and [name]Jane[/name] are some other options.
Also…

[name]Tamara[/name]
[name]Zahara[/name]
[name]Haven[/name]'t seen the name [name]Tirzah[/name] posted yet (if someone else posted it and I missed it, sorry!) It means “she is my delight” and is in Numbers (one of Zelophehad’s sisters- she brought a plea to [name]Moses[/name]). I’ve always thought it was lovely and wished it was used more. My other favorites are [name]Naomi[/name], [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], and [name]Rachel[/name].
My sister’s name is [name]Dina[/name] (no h) - it means judge in Hebrew. My own name is [name]Sara[/name] (no h) - princess in Hebrew. So much for being atheists, I guess…
[name]Shiloh[/name]

[name]Havilah[/name]
[name]Olivet[/name]

[name]Candace[/name]
[name]Michaiah[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Priscilla[/name]
[name]Zorah[/name]
[name]Noah[/name] is in Numbers 27, her story occurs during the Exodus. In the [name]Christian[/name] bible her name is spelled [name]Noah[/name].
[name]Gabriel[/name] used to be my favorite boys name. (My husbands middle is [name]Paul[/name]) Unfortunately my husband didn’t share the same feelings on the name so we scratched it but I still like it a lot! Great name. My sister and her husband like Biblical names and I suggested [name]Miriam[/name] to her. To me it is fresh and so under-used compared to the Rachels, Sarahs, Rebeccas, etc… I’ve always had a strange appeal for the different Biblical names such as [name]Damaris[/name], [name]Hadassah[/name] and [name]Keziah[/name]. I like some strange boy ones too. I don’t know if these have been mentioned I didn’t read through everything. Also, I kind of like the name [name]Samara[/name]. I’m not sure where I heard it, I pronounce it Suh-[name]Mair[/name]-uh. I think it reminds me of [name]Samaria[/name] the place in the Bible. Good [name]Luck[/name]!
Thanks. These are some great ideas!
Several on my list have been mentioned, so I think they will stay, plus a few new ones.
Keep them coming!

[name]Keturah[/name]
[name]Mara[/name]
[name]Tamara[/name] (From [name]Tamar[/name])
[name]Tirzah[/name]
[name]Zipporah[/name]
My favorite are Naomi, Deborah, and Judith. I also love Magdalene, that has been on my list for ages.
Of course some of these are probably not too usable for a child today. I am probably repeated some, sorry about that.
Most of the great names have been mentioned already, but I just thought I’d add [name]Carys[/name]. This is a Greek word that means grace. I’m pretty sure it occurs in Greek translations of the Bible.
