Baby girl name choice rhymes with my first name. Too much?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there, one of the girl names we like rhymes with my first name. My name is [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and we really like the name [name_f]Cara[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if it seems too much to have mother/daughter have rhyming names? Thanks for any input!

I don’t think it’s too similar at all! I probably couldn’t notice unless I was mentioning only you two ("[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and [name_f]Cara[/name_f] are coming over tomorrow"), but even then it isn’t horrible. If it will bother you, I wouldn’t do it. Personally, I would still use [name_f]Cara[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Cara[/name_f]! I pronounce [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] like ‘sair-ruh’ and [name_f]Cara[/name_f] like ‘car-ruh’, which don’t rhyme too much, so I don’t really see the problem. But if you pronounced [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] like ‘sar-ruh’ or [name_f]Cara[/name_f] like ‘care-uh’, then it’s a bit rhyme-y. In the end, though, of you love [name_f]Cara[/name_f], I’d say it doesn’t really matter

I don’t think it matters so much with mother and daughter names. I would pronounce [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] ‘SAIR-uh’ and [name_f]Cara[/name_f] ‘CAHR-uh’, which doesn’t make them that rhyme-y anyway.

In my accent we say SAIR-uh and CAH-ruh so that wouldn’t be problem. With the rhymey sound of SAIR-uh and CAIR-uh I would not do it. [name_m]Way[/name_m] too corny.

I don’t think it’ll matter. Maybe if it’s for siblings, but definitely fine for mother-daughter.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m still torn. We would pronounce it “care-rah”
